It looked like two players going flat out for the ball from our seat. The stamp looked worse than the challenge. I'd obviously not seen a replay when asking the question. It was a shocker mate, not sure if you’ve seen it back but it was deserved. Lindsay did very well to get up I have seen it now yes. Bad challenge. There was no uproar from around us in the challenge itself but most seemed to spot the stamp. Lindsay was indeed very brave.

I haven’t seen a replay but at the time I thought the challenge on Powell towards the end was worthy of a red.

Love how they think turning his body is a defence. Just means he was more out of control and reckless. It was fucking disgusting. It was right in front of me and it was one of them I didn’t get angry at but closed my eyes and looked away. Horrible.

Haven't seen a replay yet (not feeling masochistic enough at this time of the morning to watch ) but it was one of the few times I have found myself wincing at a challenge during a game. The kindest thing to say about the Millwall player is that he saw that there was going to be a head-on collision, that someone was probably going to get hurt and he made absolutely sure it wasn't going to be him. It was at the very least recklessly endangering an opponent. I think what the entire incident did highlight is that the current concussion protocol in football is totally inadequate and that the authorities are still not taking the long term health risks of concussion as seriously as they might. In say rugby or the NFL Lindsay would have had to leave the pitch and receive a proper concussion check from a doctor before being allowed to continue. As the evidence increases around the long term health issues linked to head injuries, the future health and well-being of players is too important for head injury reviews to be left solely to the discretion of club physios.

Yeah there’s absolutely no way Lindsay should have been allowed to play on imo. It was a horrible hit and he did well to get up. When they walked him off the pitch towards us he didn’t look with it (cue the he never does jokes).

I work with people with traumatic brain injuries so I'm admittedly a little more sensitive to these things, but I was absolutely fuming when he came back on.

Thought Lindsay played quite well today and is getting better with a few games under his belt. Completely, really not keen on him at the start (although I guess that was under NJ) he’s really grown on me in recent weeks

Seeing the replays he went in with his forearm to me and way too rash
It was the correct decision, it actually should have been 2 reds as the one on Powell 2 minutes later looked as bad

Ducking under the ball - looked like one of the opposition called - leave it - very naughty if correct

Glad the ref sent him off, there were a fair few juicy tackles that their players got away with. Ref and officials again were dreadful. Like the fact that when their keeper and defender were both seen by the physios the player( im aware the keeper doesnt have to) did not have to go off to come back on. Little things like that piss me off

Surely not for the clash of heads? Looked to me like he stamped on lindsay after the challenge. Anyone know? Haven’t seen it since but thought he led with his elbow. Didn’t seem to be watching the ball either before clattering him. That was my take at the time too

Also if a goalkeeper and an outfield player should collide and both be injured, they are both entitled to stay on the pitch after treatment, Likewise two players on the same team colliding and requiring treatment, are also now allowed to remain on the pitch.27 Oct 2016"
