Blondie: 'Call Me'
Can stick it on in the car on a summer day,and in my head i'm Richard Gene, serenely and suavely wafting along the winding roads of the Cottswolds, until i catch sight of the Bernard Bresslaw doppelgänger staring back at me in the rear view mirror.
De La Soul 'The Magic Number.'
Talking Heads 'Road to Nowhere.'

Get ready for every one to slag off U2.
Most of their stuff they released up to 1987 was fantastic.

Some truly great songs in that decade, jus5 a few jumping out my head now: Killing Joke- Love Like Blood Nena- 99 Red Balloons survivor - Eye of the Tiger J Geils Band - Centerfold John Cougar Mellencamp - Small Town Big Country - Fields of Fire Ray Parker Jr - Ghostbusters TenPole Tudor- Swords of a Thousand Men Queen - Las Palabras De Amour U2 - The Unforgettable Fire The Alarm - Spirit of 76
I was luck6 enough to get tickets for Live Aid and that was an incredible day out, albeit most of the huge acts that day were firmly established in the 70s.
Also an era when a GOOD novelty song could go supernova without feeling contrived as fuck like it does now, so honourable mentions to Joe Dolce and Captain Sensible

And I couldn’t argue with them! Who ya gonna call??!
