The US is like a retarded toddler with a box of dynamite and some matches. That guy is revered in Iran, this time I suspect they've gone a step too far and won't be able to put the djinn back into the bottle. So whats's going to happen first, the Straits of Hormuz being closed and mined? Swarm attacks on US naval assets in the area? US targets, including consulates and embassies, around the world mysteriously blowing up? Airliners hijacked? Or all of the above?
One thing is certain though, Israel and Saudi Arabia will be sitting back and relishing this - their lapdog done good.

It's interesting to think that the USA believes that Iran is a rogue nation

Imagine the shit storm if Iran had murdered a high ranking and popular US General in Mexico, and then publicly bragged about.

Crazy move by trump, depending on how Iran respond it could escalate very quickly into all out war, already seeing prominent neocons calling for troops to be repositioned.

Iran like to respond with tit for tat, IE the recent incident involving ships being commandeered, we took one of there’s so they took one of ours, we might see a highish ranking US official being targeted somewhere in the world.

Imagine the shit storm if Iran had murdered a high ranking and popular US General in Mexico, and then publicly bragged about. You do know that dead cunt was behind all the trouble in that region going back many years. He might hold the rank of general but he was undoubtedly one of the leading terrorists in the world. Wonder which side Jeremy will come down on ?

The Iranians have been paranoid about the US and UK for decades, rightly so, we covertly overthrew their government in 1953 and they've just seen nations either side of them bombed and invaded the last two decades, they were also put on the "axis of evil" list, only heightening their sense of an impeding attack by western powers, a conflict with iran has been inevitable, the US isn't going to just upticks and leave the region or allow a nation to thumb its nose at them, they own the middle east now.... or they think they do.

the US has been bombing Iraq for 3 straight decades now, it never stopped after the first gulf war, can anyone explain to me exactly what it is they're trying to accomplish ? seems o me the best option would have been to get out, stay out and let the chips fall, if that means losing iraq to iran then so be it. The guy they just killed has been helping destroy isis :/

He was sat in a car with one of the PMFs top blokes for fucks sake. This isn't the usual "US wanting to kick off a war" shit (Something I've always been against) This one is very much on Iran, they have no-one to blame but themselves... And if this escalates further it will again be on Iran's head as the only way it does go any further is if Iran decides to do something stupid again.

They would have been happy at Saddam being bombed and invaded, they were at war with him for years. Iraq is Sunni, Iran is Shia I was reading earlier about a 6 year old boy being decapitated in front of his sceaming mother because he was the wrong religion at the wrong site. Unbsatntiated but you wouldn't put it past either side.

Iran won the Iraq war, thats why the US is pissed, read about the iranian agent who helped sell the Iraq war in the US... i forget his name now, but Iran wanted the US to hit Iraq, i agree, so did bin laden but for different reasons. Lots of terrible governments in the world, i'd like to see them all wiped off the face of the earth for what they do, but we have to be pragmatic, we cant keep getting involved here, islam needs to go through its own reformation, we don't understand that region, its smoke and mirrors, no doubt the saudis and israelis are in there trying to stoke up a conflict with iran as well, look out for false flag attacks in the coming days.

I did a paper and a presentation on it back in the mid 80's, it was complicated back then, there's so many different factions that are more prominent these days it's not easy to get involved in, just leave the place alone.

If they didn't attack the US embassy then their fella doesn't get killed. If Iran retaliate then they know the US will do so in return. It's really not hard to understand. The US, for all their faults, didn't start this latest episode no matter how much people are trying to paint it that way.

With untold misery for millions of people ? The difference being that militarily Iran are in a different league to some of the previous countries, a totally different league. It wouldn't be pretty. The nationalism is already being stoked up in America, I'm guessing by people who haven't got 18-30 year old children in the armed forces......

The US, for all their faults, didn't start this latest episode no matter how much people are trying to paint it that way. We'll never truly know who started it - there is too much smoke and mirrors when the stakes are that high. Would you put it past the US stoking up the storming of their own embassy (or at least allowing the damage to happen to exaggerate the scale of the 'storming'), to give them a reason to drop bombs in Iraq? I wouldn't. Equally I wouldn't put it past Iran to have stormed the US embassy with the sole aim of provoking a reaction from the US. By your logic, the US shouldn't have retaliated to the storming of the embassy as they know Iran will do so in return - so maybe it's the US that has really started it? You could equally say Iranian protests were a reaction to US actions in the first place.
