Depends how much he values his profession I suppose. Gary rowett was earning an absolute fortune sitting on his arse but took the millwall job. And I'm sure we've made up the difference, or at least come to some sort of final settlement ... I'd imagine we'd have paid him off and don't owe him anything now.

Thought they hated him when he left there ? Portsmouth hated Harry Redknapp when he went to Southampton, but they didn't mind him when he came back and won the FA Cup. I'm not sure what they thought when he then went off to Spurs. Football supporters are fickle. We're quite quick to forgive somebody if they bring good results with them.

Luton supporters took hate to the next level. There were a series of death threats on Jones when he left. Don't even think the old bill will let him enter the precinct for fear they will have a murder to investigate.

You know, the past few weeks I'd genuinely fucking forgot Nathan Jones had been our manager this season.
Christ this lockdown addles you.
He'll be wanking himself silly over the thought of a Luton return now there is a vacancy. 'Return of the savior' moment, except the fans think he is a humongous Judas.

Too be fair too him going forward we weren’t too bad, its was just the defensive side, but once the players confidence had gone an they didn’t believe in the system that was it, relegation form. Micheal O’Neil has had the exact same players too work with an look at the difference, play off form, it Just goes too show it is the manager

Good luck Nathan if it comes to pass , it wasn’t for lack of trying here Agree just a total lack of management skills let him down, could he go down as our worst manager ever ? He wouldn't have achieved what he did at Luton without any management skills. Even if he did nothing and delegated everything, that is a form of management. It's said in business, managers get promoted to their level of incompetence. Maybe that is the case with Jonesy, he just moved up to a level that was beyond his ability. More seriously was the mistakes of the rest of the club management; 1. The procrastination over sacking managers who were failing. 2. The lack of due diligence in allowing the purchase and loan of players who were "no good" - ability or character wise. I still can't believe no one checked with TP about Berahino before we bought him, having spent 3 transfer windows chasing him. The reckless purchases during Hughes final years, Rowett, and Jones' tenures is a disgrace. 3. The poor selection of managers. It seems we eventually got MON by luck rather than someone's good judgement.

No fucking 'could' about it! Astonishing to see the amount of simple minded idiots that he drew in with his bullshit. It was as clear at the end of 18/19 he should have been binned off as it was that Hughes should have been invited to leave at the end of 16/17. To say Cotterill has gone up in my estimation by comparison says it all.

I still can't believe no one checked with TP about Berahino before we bought him Pulis was working for WBA. He made a very wise business decision for them. It might have been unethical, knowing he was selling on a narco, but it was strictly business.

And even without TP, rumours would have filters through that he was a wrong ‘in. Sometimes in the business of footie one must take a risk. Like we didn’t with Djemba Ba’s patella.
