www.footballinsider247.com/rangers-table-contract-offer-to-campbell/Rangers have tabled a Tyrese Campbell offer as they look to beat Premier League big guns and Celtic to his signature, Football Insider has learned.
Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that Rangers have offered a long-term contract to Campbell as they explore various ways to entice him.
Steven Gerrard’s side would be keen on signing the England Under-20 forward either this month or in the summer. Campbell is in a very strong position here we can only hope that working with MON, an attractive contract may tempt him to stay

He may have pause for thought though if we carry on asking stupid money for players e.g. Butland this summer if the reports were accurate.

Rangers & Celtic wouldn't be interested in the slightest if he wasn't especially cheap, just a chance to flip a player for a couple of mill & can only hope this is obvious to Tyrese himself.
He is hardly going to get picked over Defoe & Morelos at Rangers & Celtic signed a 21yr old striker yesterday which should tell him all he needs to know about first team opportunities there.

We've backed ourselves into a corner with this one - typical mismanagement by the club.
We have two choices - grossly overpay him for a player of his ability at this stage in his career - or lose him to Rangers/Celtic for relative peanuts.
Even when we have promising youngsters coming through we manage to fuck it up.

It's not happened yet. Save your ire for when it does.

It’s a disgrace how his contract has got down to 6 months, should of been sorted when he scored 2 in the FA Cup against Shrewsbury 12 months ago. Any finisher with pace should be extended just in case. Probably the most promising youngster to come out of the academy in the last 15 years and we’re going to lose him for peanuts.

The lad obviously isn't a fan of signing contracts having turned down the option to sign professionally for Man City and joining us.
He had no saleable value before so no point selling him then
Much bigger and better players than him run down contracts without signing

Do we know if he has was offered terms ages ago and he turned them down, its ok blaming the club for everything but we don't know what his old man has been upto regarding contract talks.
If he won't sign improved terms then thats not Stoke's fault ?.

MON confirmed the contract had been on the table for a while
"To be fair to Tyrese, he could have signed a contract here, it's not like the contract hasn't been there. His motivating factor has been to play, which in a young player I think is commendable, to have that attitude. A lot of young players would maybe have signed the contract and taken the financial rewards that go with that. But he has focused on wanting to play - and I have demonstrated to him that I want to give him game time"

He apparently insisted he wanted to play in the Premier League and eventually found his place in the Scottish version. He also ended up playing in the Champions League and beating Barcelona. So it's not all bad. If you play for Celtic or Rangers, Scotland is absolutely fine. A good stepping stone if you're really good, and regular European Football in front of decent crowds.

Realistically if he doesn't sign a contract within what, the next week, we can safely say we're fucked.

It’s worrying champions league teams like Leibzig and to a lesser extent Celtic have taken an interest in a player we’ve been giving minimal game time to, despite stoke surely having the time to qualitatively assess his skills. I thought at the time O’neils comments about him not offering anything outside the box were wide of the mark.
He really should have been starting for a team at the bottom of the championship, I didn’t think so a couple of months ago, hats off to those who did.

His dad could also be feeding snippets of info to the media whether fake or real to try drive his price up with us, he's a talented prospect for sure but I think some of this is just agent bluff.

He has shown a good eye for goal when he gets a chance but much too often he is peripheral to the game and looks lightweight and somewhat lazy. It is not just here he has failed to impress, at Shrewsbury he scored a few decent goals but then drifted out of contention. I have a suspicion the issue is down to attitude with a feeling, fuelled by his father, that he is too good for the level he is at.

Him and Allen link up well when they play together I've noticed.

You cant force players to sign a contract

Leipzig would be a great move for him if true. But it sounds as if big clubs are just being rumoured in order to raise his value.

Campbell Jnr should get his Dad to give Ince Snr a phone call, and ask him for some tips on how to tout his son to the highest bidder. Campbell Snr has issues with Stoke City and will continue to unsettle his son until he achieves his dream of seeing his son at a big club. I do not object to anyone having high ambitions, but i think that Campbell Jnr will end up at somewhere like Bournemouth or Watford.
