Exactly, love it when the opposing fans get on his case because that just cause's us to protect our own, Plus he can handle them on his own anyway. hes been doing it all his career. I love the blokes guts. He stands in a stadium with anything up to 20 or 30,000 bigots shouting abuse at him and he doesn't crumble. He has probably witnessed things most of those bigots couldn't even imagine and when he makes one reply, some of them go running for the tissue box and cry. It seems some of them are STILL crying. They dont have an ounce of the bollox he has. From what I heard directly from a player who used to play with him he’s an all round lovely bloke and is exactly what you need in the dressing room when your in a relegation scrap. He said he gets along with absolutely everyone at the club from the manager, to the cleaners, and (at his previous club) they all absolutely loved him as well. How people like the prick above can say they “Hate his fucking guts” absolutely baffles me when they don’t know him on a personal level. They hate his guts based on one opinion he has, which in my view is quite a justified opinion. All I have seen from him is that he works his absolute bollocks off every time he puts a shirt on, stands his ground and has always been good to the fans. The ones he called out, he was right to do so because they are fucking idiots.

A fair few dont have any idea why they give him abuse in the first place, a friends young lad asked him why they where shouting abuse at him all the time, the father didn't even entertain trying to explain.

Irish boxing and indeed the nation have been rocked by the news of the passing of two young boxing starlets this week.
13-year-Eoin Hamill, was knocked down and killed in a road traffic collision on the Springfield Road on Tuesday, while in a separate tragic incident, an 11-year-old Cillian Draine, was found dead at his home in north Belfast on Thursday. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Both incidents rocked Belfast and boxing as Hamill was a noted talented youngster who boxed out of Gleann ABC while Draine boxed for Star ABC.
However, in a real case of the worst of times brings out the best in people, boxers across the country moved to help the families involved.
Condolences were sent out across the board, but some of Ireland’s biggest name fighters as well as some local to the duo did what they could to try and help with funeral costs.
Olympic medal winner Michael Conlan donated a pair of shorts he wore in the ring to raise money for the funeral of youngster Hamill and auctioned of a glove signed by Paddy Barnes, himself and Carl Frampton to raise funds for the Draine’s funeral.

He'll never be a favourite with the fans because of his views, but personally he works his socks off and is one of the few who earn their wage at the club. He performs consistently and no one can fault him for that.

H I get what you mean but it is completely different. With JS there was a lot of "rumours" about his sickening behaviour, doing charity work publicly for his ego and him being an arse. However with McClean all anyone has to say about him off the pitch is good things, such a nice lad etc, favourite player behind Shawcross with people who work there and does a lot of charity work behind closed doors not publicly.

6 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
2 “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Matthew 6 vv1-4.

bUt HiZ cRoSsEs aRe ShIt 😁 Cue bayern to qualify the stat to suit his agenda It’s not hard is it? It’s a meaningless stat unless you have the % that are accurate. Which I would imagine is pretty crap because he fires in loads of crosses usually to no one.

He could put 20 perfect crosses in but if the forward has a head like a 50p piece, his stats will be shit. What I do like about McClean, for all his faults and limits, is he gets the ball and has one direction in mind. He might not be pacey or skilful but he’ll try to get to the byline and try to get the ball across.

Anyone who has made their mind up to dislike McClean because he doesn’t believe the same as you do is frankly retarded, and you have to ask yourself why do you care?
Nmanja Matic doesn’t wear a poppy - and nobody gives a shit, which is correct.
Fan’s favourite Mama Sidibe was a devout Muslim, with massively different beliefs to a lot of Stoke fans - and again, nobody cared - which is correct.
If you can’t get behind a player who dies on the pitch every week, who’s doing all he can for the shirt week in week out because he has differing political views to you - then you’ve lost sight of why you follow football and Stoke.

Yeah and he’d have 2/3 players to aim for and would wait for them to get there. McClean doesn’t. He essentially gives the ball a lot.
