The expectation of an instant return to the premier league was the big issue for me and the hierarchy did nothing to dampen it knowing how much of a grind the championship is They've just shown arrogance and the laziness that got us into this mess throughout. It was clear we need an overhaul, starting with Scholes and then down. We didn't do a thing. I don’t think anyone can argue with that mate

I think O:Neill is coping some unfair flak here. He's pretty much damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. He couldn't really come out and say he's been told he has to sell, otherwise that would stop the club's bargaining position (if he have one) so he's just checking got to muddle through till January & hope we muster enough points to still be in touch.

Every big money signing we've made in the past 4 years has been an unmitigated disaster with the exception of Shaqiri You say that, but although we got our money back with Shaqiri which was of course governed by the type of contract we had to give him to get him to sign, he was at market value worth double what he went to Liverpool for. That transfer could also be argued to be a disaster as we got no where near his market value. When will those running the club be held to account?

Sanctions against Stoke, because they've made some bad business?
Well, that will surely help our situation ...
It also seems as if the best players will leave, apart from Nick Powell. Splendid!
League One, here we come ... or what?!

I wonder if O’Neill knew all this when he took over🤔 Yes I'd say he did. There wouldn't be much point misleading him would there. This was all inevitable the moment we gave Rowett an open cheque book and then to compound the problem we gave the massive clear up exercise to Jones a complete rookie with absolutely no experience in doing the job he was brought in to do. We've got to do what we've got to do now FFP wise but I'm sure now we've got a proper manager in the long road to recovery has begun.

I dont really care if any of them leave, Badou is our best midfielder and Etebo has potential to play in the Prem but they along with Allen, Butland & Indi haven't performed well and have been present when the losing mentality set in.
4 or 5 big earners out will freshen the place up a bit, £20-30m in will dampen the danger of FFP coming to fuck us.
Hopefully MON will bring in 2 or 3 bargains/loans whilst a few of the younger lads can get some minutes, I'm looking forward to the window, let's begin the revival.

An admirably positive spin, but shipping out all your good players without replacing them only ends one way. I think it's called Moxey's Law.

It's obviously a very understandable take on things, especially with FFP looming, but Badou and Etebo are our best players. Both have the ability to drive forwards, something we painfully lack. You can question the end product at times but they're certainly not sideways players.
It really should be Allen and Butland to cash in on first if suitable offers come in. I'd only sell Badou and/or Etebo if we recoup a fair bit on Badou, and if we got an exceptionally good offer for Etebo. Sadly the club will see this completely differently to me, evidenced by looking like we're shipping Badou to Trabzonspor on loan.
The major pains are Wimmer and Imbula. Astronomical wages and no chance of a good transfer fee.

Don't understand the rush. This loan could have been done at the end of the January window if we hadn't found a buyer by then. At that point Tranzonspor paying all/some of his wages may have made some financial sense. Badou is possibly our most saleble player. Given he had shown some good form when he played good chance we would have got bids. Even if they paying 100% of his wages and even if we got a decent loan fee (£1m?) doing it now doesn't make sense. Perhaps it shows how fucked we are - need him off the payroll asap. Scholes payrise would have subsidised the extra month though!

What a cock up of a club! You couldn't make this shit up! That Wimmer and Imbula bit really pi--es me off. P.S. Tonydreamtheater is NOT happy about Scholes. He wishes he could get on here and post on that subject. Probably get another ban though! If this Badou thinks he is good enough for a Premiership club (as I've been led to believe on here), why have none of them come in for him. Rubbish Stoke. Rubbish! When are you going to give us something to shout about again? Can't even join in with the Christmas songs, due to how shit we are!

They've already tried this.
Why not wait till the end of the window to see if there is any interest from a more committed buyer? Because his wages will be paid, possibly even by the end of the week.

Badou and Etebo are so amazing Stoke are turning clubs away with offers of less than £25m for each. Jack is weighing up several offers with Manure, Manshitty, Real Madrid and Lazio leading the race to get his signature for a cut price bargain £40m, Joe Allen is the subject of a £30m bid from Premiership newcomers Wolves as well as being chased by Everton, Arsenal and PSG. Gouranga.

Clearly MON thinks he's able to do both, I'm annoyed we're in this situation but I can understand why they are doing it. I understand selling him. No issue with that. Loaning him though makes no sense. Doing it to a Turkish club who won't end up signing him and we're back to square one in six months time makes even less sense. NOBODY ELSE WANTS HIM FFS. He's mither.

And now we’ve given the job to O’Neill, a man without a millisecond of relevant experience. It really does stretch reality to think about the managerial appointments since Hughes left. If you wanted to see a club drop from the top division to the 4th Division in a hurry this is the way you would do it.

When I was young my Fave player was Mick Pejic. Not even sure why, just something about the way he played, acted etc. When he was sold to Everton I told everyone “That’s it, I’m an Everton fan now” Lasted about 5 days as I remember.
I know, with one exception, I couldn’t care less about any one of these players leaving. With this level of ineptitude it really does cross your mind whether it’s deliberate.
