So where are all the ones on here that were calling him biscuit legs and we should sell him in January. Play the lad in the right position and when fit this is what he will offer Stoke. Gouranga. 'When fit' exactly, nobody has doubted his football ability, His ability to be fit is the question

Understandebly rusty first 10 to 15 mins I thought then he ran the show.
Vokes looked a player too today.
Campbell , Allen and McLean were also outstanding.
Just trying to out score the opposition is the best way with the players we have.

Should be the first name on the sheet when fit. The one player we have got who can do something different

There is no doubt that O'Neil has improved the character of the eleven on the pitch but we've still looked desperately short of any class. Obviously this lad can change that. He was immense Score 5 away, and we have no class ? Not Barcelona, but give some credit where it's due.

Will put my hands up. I said he didn’t deserve a spot in the team until he started to make an impact. He made an impact today.

His finish was class he was never going to miss that. After losing the ball a bit in the first 10 minutes he really did run the show. 4-2-3-1 please keep this going forward please and Nick Powell will change our team What a difference is makes to have someone cross a ball on the right wing for a change!

Why oh why has it taken so long to get him in the side? Formation. Mick wanted to get 3 in midfield initially to make us hard to beat.

He brings a class that simply hasn't been there before. Several good performances and Campbell was excellent but its Powell's play that can inject the stuff that's been desperately missing for far too long.

Hm, I do worry about resting our hopes on two injury prone players though. If Powell gets injured, you’d hope Clucas could drop in the more advanced spot and do a job like he did vs Barnsley as well.

Got off to a slow start with a couple of poor enough touches and passes but my god he was immense thereafter

He showed today that he’s an intelligent footballer, some great touches to play in the attackers. It was also nice to see one of our players show composure on the ball instead of hoofing it.

Played how you’d hope he would.
Sloppy as fook to start with mind. Totally nonchalant, lazy passes to no one and then the assist came.
Absolutely lovely ball to Vokes and from that moment he was class. Through balls, good runs and a general pain in the arse.

Had 10 minutes in a few games and expected to play like Messi. 😂

Thought he was targeted a bit in the second half, they made sure there was contact every time there was a tackle.
Played well though.

Had 10 minutes in a few games and expected to play like Messi. 😂 You do need a reason to want someone on the pitch though. He had done nothing when coming on or in the other games he’d started. He’s also very fragile and is a player who would require a formation change, which didn’t seem likely. Compare that to, for example, sub appearances by Vokes and Campbell in recent times, who have helped to change games. He now has a spot, and should keep it for a while in the hopes that he shakes off some cobwebs, doesn’t get injured, and finds form.

Keep him fit and his head in the right place, and he’s every bit a Premier League player. I hope we build the team around him - he is that good.

Once he gets into his stride he's unstoppable.
