It's now a uber expensive fashion brand I know mate. Pockets in Hanley used to have them with a Potteries logo on them, don't know if they still do.

They do.
All their gear bears the legend 'Belstaff, Longton'.

Fantastic piece of kit on the bike. Never let a single drop in or any breeze at all. It was worth every penny and worn every single day. Only issue I had was a waxy mark on the fuel tank where it caught occasionally. Prices are ridiculous now though unfortunately.

Me Nan used to make’em in Silverdale. We all had’em. Kids, dads on building sites. 2 a penny. Now all the posh women & their soft husbands wear’em in Bath! Do they still make John Partridge in Rugeley, they’re cheap...

I believe the newer Belstaff’s have a massively upgraded material spec than the old trial master jackets. I’ve got a vintage Belstaff festooned with badges on the breast pockets, and dried out to a light tan colour. A few young lads tell me how much they like it! Belstaff had many famous customers including Steve McQueen, and Che Guevara wore a Trialmaster in the Bolivian jungle just prior to his death.

Their winter sale started today on-line - 40% off. Still pricey but good quality and design. If taken care of will last you a lifetime. I'd rather have a few really nice Belstaff pieces than a closet full of disposable poor quality menswear.

www.maxim.com/style/belstaff-brand-history-2017-3They've come a long way. I had a Trailmaster when i was 18, pity i didn't keep it. I did manage to pick up a lambskin biker jacket (Excelsior) which i'm very happy with that was made by Belstaff for Goodwood Sports and Racing. The quality of it is amazing as all Belstaff jackets always have been.

Hasn't the same thing happened with gabardine macs? Even poor kids had one years ago. They are a fashion statement now.

Me neither I traded it for a GT 250 .used a Levi leather jacket with all my bikes rain and shine . Still have the jacket although I had a 28" waist back then so needless to say it stays in the shed
