If you have amazon prime, you can now watch the games there. (2 games tonight) It's relatively cheap per month plus all the other amazon benefits, which means even more access to top tier teams for armchair supporters (and more money for the big clubs) and the other smaller clubs will fall even further behind. It's catastrophic for football as it's a price point people will happily do or already have, and are able to watch in comfort on their 55 inch tv's at home. Won't be long before they start to outbid sky. www.theguardian.com/football/2019/dec/02/amazon-prime-premier-league-football-arrival-tv-hefty-price

Some people might say who cares. However we would of cared if we were still in the top flight.
The fans of those Premier League Clubs this week. Will either have to be in there seat for 7:30 or 8:15. All because of Amazon winning rights to show games.
I know people have had this debate before but its ruining football. As we were in it for 10 seasons i do have an opinion. in my opinion the premier league chasing money again and people like Amazon will pay it. Its aparantly going to be a few seconds behind anyway due to the streaming. Once again the fans not thought of i say. Rant over!
I dont have Amazon Prime btw

7.30 was the standard night game ko time for donkeys years. 8.15 is reasonable ko time. Imho 8.30 should be the standard ko time for night games

With the car parking issues at Stoke I don't get home much before midnight from an 8 p.m. kick off, so I wouldn't be too chuffed with even later kick-offs.

I love watching football, but I really wish it would blow up in their faces! They just don't know what to do next, to grab your money! All these championship matches are a pre-cursor to pay per view. No doubt about it. IMHO that is. I won't be paying any more, that's for sure!

Since we were relegated I watch hardly any Premier League football . Is Amazon entering the market any worse than what has happened since Sky took over the tv rights?

I totally disagree with this.
With how easy it is to get hold of streams and how few consequences there are for streaming, this would have happened already if it were true. It's good that they're made cheaply and legitimate as the quality of service will be higher, but it won't put people off going.
The real fans are the ones who still go now (even occasionally, this is not a dick measuring post) or those who would prefer to go if possible.
The real rootball fan will always choose the live experience and the day out with mates or family etc than sitting in one's living room, and that demand won't go down just because Amazon start streaming games for a few quid a pop.

What I think is really bad news is the ease of how you watch the game. Those who already have it will watch it, with no contracts or faffing with sky/BT What it will do is empower the big clubs even more so by giving them an even bigger more 'casual' audience, and consequently, the more money will pour in. It's exacerbating financial division between clubs at the most frightening rate!

Yeah agreed you could. Some people pay for Sky some for BT or Both. Now Amazon want money. People will suffer especially those that go.
Im waiting for someone to say its only 15 minutes but that makes a difference. Getting the for 7:30 might be a struggle for some with Work etc. Also an 8:15 kick off could be late for someone wishing to take young ones but dont want them out really late especially on a school night. I just feel the fans are not thought of enough. You pay your Sky BT money maybe. So this week you cant watch the midweek game you may have liked because you may not be signed up to Amazon.

They were talking About this on talk sport today. Simon Jordan says the premier league are foolish for giving away their product too cheaply for what is one basic advert for amazon. He also said sky and bt are losing interest in paying for all the premier league for money
He reckons is the premier league could be arsed they could set up up a Netflix style streaming platform for the PL
100,000,000 at least subscribers worldwide at 9.99 a month is 12 billion a year before advertising and sponsorships. This money would dwarf what they sell the rights for. And it is only a matter of time before this happens

This discussion has been going on for years, today is the first time we're actually seeing the start of it.
When Amazon, or any of the internet giants, decide they want to really pursue the Premier League Sky won't stand a chance and everyone's viewing habits will have to change.

Very welcome news. Love the competition and flexibility this will bring. Football is a global and accessible sport, so quit the moaning. I'll mix it up and go to games occasionally, it won't stop that.

I am watching this on Amazon. Really disappointing that they have the same commentators and the same pundits that Sky BT Itv Bbc etc use. Is there some pundits union that's a closed shop? I was hoping for something a bit different from moneybags Amazon 😣
