........................Butland.......................... Edwards.........Shawcross......Batth..............Indi.... ................Badou............Etebo.................... Ince.....................Powell...................McClean ..........................Diouf.......................... With our current players I'd go for a formation and starting 11 like this as soon as possible. I know Shawcross might need another fortnight before he is ready, so maybe a return for Collins or Lindsay, and everyone can see that we need a specialist left back as well. I still think Indi is a better option than Ward there who doesn't impress me at all. A bit unsure if I should choose Powell or Hogan, but Powell is our player so I prefer him.

Butland
Edwards Batth Bruno Clucas
Etebo NDiaye
Diouf Powell McClean
Gregory
Subs: Federici, Collins (Batth when Ryan is back), Allen, Ince, Campbell, Ngoy, Hogan
Swap Ryan for Batth when fit. Consider Hogan for Powell in a 442 at home or when we need to chase a game.

Won't score a goal and still concede. Feel free to suggest your team. I've no idea. We've tried everything we can and we still can't win. One thing I will say is that playing your only credible goal threat at left back and not playing your other is folly.

Feel free to suggest your team. I've no idea. We've tried everything we can and we still can't win. One thing I will say is that playing your only credible goal threat at left back is barmy and not playing your other is folly. Even with Clucas playing well in midfield we're losing more than we win and not creating chances though, which is more down to the system than anything else in my mind. 433 just doesn't work with these players. Nathan Jones played that system at Brum and we were outdone by a 16 year old kid. We don't have the centre forward for it, we don't have the wide players for it. When you dig a bit deeper you ask how Clucas can fit into a 4231. It's a struggle because he isn't a number ten and he isn't mobile or strong enough for the two. He was decent last time he played left back and he's a whole load better than BMI there or god forbid, Stephen Ward. I think in our position we need to look a bit deeper than "Clucas is scoring goals from midfield so he needs to stay there". What we're doing isn't working and it needs positive change. Has the manager got the bottle?
