Some good well defined characters and some actually funny American humour. I like most of the cast but I think Raymond's brother is really good.
Just checked wiki and there are 210 episodes so that's why there are so many re-runs of the show that last for months. It seems there was some unrest in the cast due to their earnings as most cast members were making $160,000 per episode. Though this was not to be sneezed at, it was a far cry from the $1.8 million Ray Romano received each episode.

In some Comedy Voting Enquiry, "Robert" got the lowest points for a comedy actor in any tv series ever, according to the swedes. I've spoken to some, people in general absolutely don't get it up here, what's funny about him. That's weird because he's my favourite in the "Everybody loves Raymond" series.π

I must admit that until reading this thread Iβd never heard of it. Well, thinking that I must have been missing out on something major, I resorted to Google to help me locate a review or two. The first one i saw started off with " Really outdated show for people of a similar mind. Poor jokes for a lazy laugh here and there with just terrible stereotypes............And yes its really as lame as it sounds and makes you cringe at how immature it is.....". I take it you wouldn't agree?

Best American sitcom. Seinfeld second. King of Queens third. The rest naa ... What about Cheers? Which led to Frazier? Two bloody masterpeces. In the modern age Modern Family is brilliant as it appeals on several levels. Back in my formative years Rhoda and Taxi were bloody fantastic. Golden Girls was good too. Roseanne also had some smartness

Some good calls there Joe.
I've always liked Cheers and Frasier, they had lots of really good characters, were both well written, and had some great one liners.
I liked Taxi as well, and Rhoda was ok, although I never liked Golden Girls or Roseanne.

Best American sitcom. Seinfeld second. King of Queens third. The rest naa ... Never laughed once at Seinfeld, but thatβs hardly surprising as the person that put me onto it also likes Eddy Izzard & Iβve never laughed at him neither. On the other hand I love Curb Your Enthusiasm. Same writer, but funnier!

Best American sitcom. Seinfeld second. King of Queens third. The rest naa ... Seinfeld is overrated and you can add Frasier is there as well. They're on par with the Good Life. There are far better comedies than those around. Big Bang Theory and Rick and Morty are better. Even Brooklyn Nine-Nine is better (the earlier seasons)
