Knives Out is a far superior film than this, currently out at the cinema.

Not seen King of Comedy yet Possibly the best. Fantastic film. King of Comedy is great but the best? No chance, Scorcese greatest director of all time and my fave is the Departed!

I thought it was good, if too long. Just doesn't need to be that long.
At times it felt like an 'act-off' between Pacino and De Niro, and the comment about them being indulged is probably true, but how good is it to see a 'proper' film with decent actors instead of some mindless Hollywood bollocks about superheroes or some formulaic three part drivel?
The phone call was a particularly good example of a man battling with conflicting desires and rendering himself almost mute...
It also made me look up the life of Frank Sheeran which made for interesting reading. Any film which prompts your curiosity has done a decent job.

Knives Out is a far superior film than this, currently out at the cinema. I wouldn’t say far superior - but I enjoyed that more than the Irishman; 8/10 vs 7/10 It’s the best of what is currently out - well worth going to see.

Irishman got 3.5 stars from me and Knives Out 4.5 stars. Thought it was brilliant, as well as being entertaining and funny, the political and social messages are really well done.
