As as a frequent reader of the Oatcake I fell yesterday into the trap of falling into the quiz at the top of the page when logging on to count the No of squares in the puzzle at the top of the page.
Foolishly I started to complete the questions and then realised where it was going and so terminated it before completion.
Today I ave been inundated with e mails and phone calls from everything from Virgin Media to Dignified Funeral plans !!
Cest La Vie the site I love and Enjoy has to finance itself but what a pain this one is.

I started one of those as well before similarly aborting. But I just like puzzles. I only looked at it briefly but I counted 7 squares.

I don't get those quizzes, probably a blessing in disguise.

I don't get these either, but am confused as to how they managed to get the OP's phone number to badger him with phone calls?

I don't get these either, but am confused as to how they managed to get the OP's phone number to badger him with phone calls? Because I was STUPID and continued to complete a questionnaire (I think it was Tesco) promising me all sought of benefits. Half way through the mental alarm bells started to ring and so I just logged off and did not complete it. i posted to warn Oatcakers and do not find it embarrassing to admit my foolishness.

Ah fair enough mate. I have adblocker installed which saves a lot of this spam shit from appearing. Well worth installing to avoid the hassle of those kind of things

Thursday. The plot now thickens May not be connected but a hell of a coincidence;
Received a email today confirming a 25 US dollar order claiming to be from Apple which I had not made.
I did not open it or click on anything. Managed to find a way of getting in touch with AppleUK customer services who rang me back within 2mins. They confirmed that this was SCAM and what they called”A Fishing Execise” imediatly and without hesitation.
Hope this helps anybody who has a similar experience.
