Shankland sounds like the working title for a film about Lee Gregory. 😂😂😂 Can we bookmark this for when we hold the annual oatcake post of the year awards?

That Shankland moves and looks exactly like Hogan? Much rather the big lad.

Possibly. I doubt Aberdeen will be able to refuse a couple of million. They supposedly rejected bids up to 7million for Scott McKenna. Depends how highly they rate him. Whats the exchange rate between England and Scotland nowadays.

That goal record from Shankland is just obscene.
I don't care if it's Scotland, you just can't turn your nose up at that. The frustration for me, is that the price he'll end up costing is possibly stretching our budget at the moment but the type of risk/reward signing we should have been all over like a cheap suit after relegation.

So was Garry Birtles when he was at Forest...may be worth a punt though.

Here’s the dilemma.... somebody with that record in England would cost a fortune. In fact somebody with a worse English record is likely to cost more, so going for somebody with a stellar record from a cheaper market is a low cost gamble worth taking.

I once heard a rumour that the Goal in Scottish football is much bigger, and this is why so many shots successfully score there. Prolific Strikers. Tush, or whatever the Scottish equivalent is.

Just seen some footage of cosgrove and he looks like an oversized Paul Connor. O'Neil knows best though... 🙄

First thought that popped into my head about this shanklands goal record is that Norwegian postman we had a look at years ago, ole albrigstein or something like that?
I guess if he's cheap enough though hed be worth the gamble.

Thing with Scotland is diouf could go there and get 15 goals a season quite easily.
Interested to have some strikers names that gave come down from scotland and made a name for themselves here?
That Anthony stokes was prolific up there, as was gary Hooper.
Is cosgrove big, strong and fast? If he is none of the above then how is he better than we have?

It’s odd with players from north of the border. It seems to go very well (van Dijk, McGinn, Larsson) or very badly (Hooper, Gordon Marshall)

I refer the gentleman to one R. Fuller, formerly of Hearts

Prefer shankland to cosgrove. Shankland has been on fire for a couple of seasons now. He was dynamite at Ayr and carried on at Dundee united. Watched him against Hibs in the cup. When you think he's not in the game he usually scores. Worth a punt as he wont break the bank.

Shanklands next move is already in motion, he is a big rangers fan and that’s where he will end up, it’s a well known done deal in Scotland, I have been to Ayr and Somerset park several times over the past few years and having seen him play he looks like he could possibly make the step up to much bigger things, it will not be with us unfortunately.
Cosgrove is a much more realistic option

See I'd lean toward Cosgrove, looks really physical and even if he didn't score he'd be a total nuisance rather than a passenger.

Lou Macari and Steve Archibald too, but I guess in recent times, too often they have flattered to deceive as the quality of the respective leagues has grown further apart.
