Good win but cheap talks like the last two managers we had, get over it people, dont fall for it. Yes we have beaten a poor team on a terrible run with a fair bit of good fortune.
Oh dear......here's another one
I can't remember the last time we scored 4 goals against ANY team, regardless of how poor their form or their position in the table (it wasn't Liverpool, was it??).
Let's accept it for what it was - an excellent win and an amazing turn around for a new Manager, who actually looks like a REAL Manager

Playoffs this year with a good Jan window. Madness 50 points is all that matters then start again Be very Difficult to hang on to some key midfielders too I don’t entirely disagree with this but I’m hoping teams don’t take a proper look at a team that is bottom half championship and we can have a real run at this next season squad in tact

And a very poor team that have just got a 2-2 draw at West Brom and battled back to get a 2-2 draw at home to Bristol City in their last home game.

You only need to look at his profile picture to know he’s an absolute clown.

Actually I didn't think Barnsley were a poor team. In various phases of the game they played some good stuff and looked dangerous, which makes our performance all the more creditable. On today's performance I will be surprised if Barnsley are still bottom at the end of the season.

I really he this bloke succeeds. Difficult I know with this squad, but just to shut these Pulistas up! Sick of hearing about him. He's gone, and deservedly so at the time! It is possible to be a fan of TP, but still back our current manager you know! Absolutely. I wouldn't have been sorry to see TP return given the state we had reached. But I'm very impressed with what we've seen and heard so far from O'Neill. As a lot of others have said - he looks and sounds like a proper manager. He had an air of authority on the touchline today, and I didn't mind at all that he was more concerned about what was happening on the pitch than responding to and waving at us.

Good that he's picked up on Gregory's contribution, can see him getting a run of games now and becoming an important player for the remainder of the campaign.
Hopefully a more consistent selection policy should help build some awareness and a bit of 'telepathy' between the starting eleven.
I think his experience of managing a limited talent pool at International level will help him extract some value from our disparate group of abilities.

Promising start, but remember it was only Barnsley. I think he will do alright. Team had shape for once and I think the errors will go away with some continuity of the squad. Maybe unintentional but that comment reeks of arrogance and is a major problem surrounding us at the moment. I was trying to say just another bottom 3 club who are struggling, just like us. On our day we are capable of beating anyone in this division.

His line about I don’t even know the names was telling for me! He is bringing them down a peg or two, name counts for nothing with him

I would have been concerned with TP returning. Drawing matches will only get us relegated being in the position we are, and that is all TP was achieving in his last 2 jobs. We need to now win regularly to get up the table, which is something TP hasn't done for a long time, and we don't have the forwards we did when he got us promoted. I totally agree with your last sentence. He would have looked a right chump waving at us and the Barnsley scoring. He is well aware that all credibility is lost if we lose against Wigan, which I am confident we won't just now.

The very best managers have drink addled bright red faces. Hopefully we've got one of our own. We do seem to have a connection with the folks from across the border in Wales. Fascinating.
Now across that border lived a great poet and writer (I'm not sure about his possible skills managing a football team, but what the heck, Mad Nath couldn't do it either) - nice man as well, we do seem to be obsessed with "very nice men".
Dylan Thomas - now that man really knew how to throw pints down his neck!
