Definitely NOT McClean, BMI...……..both bring a lot more to the team in their proper positions and BOTH have been found out in the left back position so why fuck up 2 positions? The width that Mclean brings on the left is invaluable????!!! Is Tymon worth a go? I really don't think he has been given a fair chance but I have no idea whether he really is good enough? Is Corrigan any good? If not then we need to limp through with what we have until January because at least with McClean wide left he will fill in and support Ward. Perhaps ward will improve with game time ( although he is not the answer). We would not be in this position if the recruitment team was not so shit. What a joy to watch a balanced formation and outlet balls available into wide areas. I really wonder if Jones was a bit of a fraud?? for me that was jimmy macs best game for stoke - he was relentless and his quality was much improved - if you look at his work vs ince on the other side its not even comparable Comparing him to Ince does not mean much! Clucas and Woods were both excellent!

Corrigan is not ready from what I've seen Bruno left back for me until January.
Wouldn't be upset to see Clucas there but be crazy to tat him out if midfield at the moment

Great to see us win, score not even 3 but 4 goals...! But and its a big but... what do we do about LB? In my opinion Ward is atrocious and was notably worse than everyone else out there today, so slow and can't create anything. Better sides will target him and finish us. Clucas has a blinder at the tip of the 3 - should we really put him there given he keeps finding the net and is our top scorer. Bruno is probably needed at CB so that we don't need to see Lindsay ever again. Jimmy Mac was the best player on the pitch today like him loathe him, poppy or no poppy. so what the fuck do we do? MON red and white army! If Badou was on the bench due to carrying a knock, then i'd have said play Clucas there when Ndiaye is 100% again,LB is very important providing width on the overlap in a 4-3-3 and he possesses quality on the ball, and at times there looked to be some understanding developing with McClean last season, and on occasions this season too. However today's performance muddies the water,as we're not really in a position to sacrifice his goal threat from midfield,at least until the likes of Gregory/Allen/Etebo/Ince start chipping in consistently. McLean isn't the answer at LB,and Bruno is the best CB available to us at the moment. It really does boil down to,imho, either persevering with Ward and hoping an energetic midfield in conjunction with McClean's appetite for getting up and down the pitch can offer him enough protection or playing Clucas there. If Ryan returns soon(ish) i'd gamble on being able to deal with balls into the box better than we have been to date and persevere with Ward.

Can we bring Tymon back in January? I mean, he can't be worse than fucking Ward. By all accounts pulling up trees in Portugal - says a lot about Rowett and Jones if true I keep hearing this, but the lad has only started 4 games out of 10 for them and has been left on the bench for the last 3. I could be completely wrong as I haven't seen a single minute of him this season, but it really doesn't sound like he's really tearing it up. His team on the otherhand...

Like I say, I could be wrong but it doesn't read like this fantastic loan spell that I keep hearing about.

Has to be Indi at lb for now.
CCV and Batth at cb. If we weren’t in such treacherous waters I’d put in Collins ahead of Batth.

BMI will move to LB when Ryan returns you'd imagine. Still another month or so until that's likely though.

This is harsh on Ward after his best game for us today, was fairly solid all afternoon, only struggling when Mclean had gone walkabout. That said Mclean also had his best game for us today, genuine threat down the left unlike Ince who did himself no favours today, the word powderpuff was invented for him.

Yeah stick with Ward for now. At least it’s actually his position.

Indi is probably the best option.
But that means CCV will probably play which is bad.
I’d hope Collins would play tbh as he’s the better option at centre back than CCV or Lindsay but who knows.
Signing a left back is imperative this January.

I am sure O'Neill and his scouts know of a good LB playing in Ireland or Scotland that we can get for a million quid and 5 grand a week wages...or less.
