Apart from all the other issues we have....and there are many.....its as simple as this, we just ain't going to score enough goals to stay out of trouble.
I'm not convinced any of our forwards are capable of scoring 10 goals this season. Gregory's finishing is poor although he must be the best bet, Campbell can only play 60 mins and disappears from games anyway, Hogan has the amazing capacity of avoiding contact with ball where at all possible, I have completely given up on Vokes who now seems to be aspiring to Jon Parkin proportions. Powell will get injured everytime he's forced to move from his Playstation.
Apart from the occasional Clucas goal, I don't see many goals from midfield.
Big problem!!!

Don’t let that get in the way Benji- your central point is correct; Afobe pre injury would probably score more for Bristol than Stoke as Bristol do seem to play the ball forwards rather than backwards and sideways. |

Think I read in a Sky article about us, that being poor in both boxes is the hallmark of a bad side ☹️ Add to this the apparent lack of any action to fix the many problems is only going to end in one outcome.

The incompetence of our defence tends to get most of the spotlight but our utterly incoherent and ineffective attacking policy is every bit as much to blame. It also makes for a very boring spectacle.

He wouldn’t get a sniff of a chance under Jones, but he is another one whose reputation is based on an 18 month purple patch surrounded by seasons of mediocrity. Not really, if you read through this forum you'll find that not everyone has got carried away with thinking that Gregory is the Messiah. I think he's been hailed because of the shiteness of those who surround him and applauded predominantly for his effort which we are finding will only get him, and us, so far. We have the makings of a decent midfield but none of them score goals, so they depend on someone else to do that, or even get into positions to do that. No-one is showing that capability. He's been good this season, his finishing isn't great but he's been good. It's more than effort, his hold up play is exceptional. Our midfield of Badou Clucas and Etebo is the best is the league. I agree they need more goals. Clucas shows the capability to get into those positions I'd say. Something like: Badou Clucas Etebo Powell(Duffy/Allen depending on game) Gregory Hogan Has shown promise in getting goals. |

We've got sharp shooters Sam Vokes, Hogan, Gregory and Tyrese dont be rediculous! Plus the creative sparks of Ince, Clucas and Allen. Wonderful wing play form Ward, McClean and Edwards.
We'll be fine. I dont know what the fuss is about.
