Can only see a points deduction for derby to report a profit in their last set of accounts they sold the ground to their chairman for £80m or something daft and have gone out and signed Rooney. 32Red apparently paying his wages Yes but they are still signing players whilst breaching FFP chances are they have not significantly improved their finances.

Perhaps they discovered oil under the pitch during the close season.

Don't we, the Riverside and Pride Park all have roughly the same stadium, minus the corners in our case... Though who can blame us if this is true, corners valued at £65 million! When1st built I’d say our ground was the worst of the 3 but now the corner has been filled in and we have the screen as a windbreak I’d say it’s just as good as the other two. What let’s our ground down is the infrastructure around it I absolutely love the use of the canal now though with the oatcake boat and barge-inn-booze, when you get to the stadium though it does feel like we lashed it in the middle of an area with all the charm of an industrial park. Weirdly I also like the incinerator, really proud we're a proper team in an industrial city rather than some fancy southern shite.

Meanwhile, even at half of his package, Rooney may be the highest paid "coach" in the Championship.
Despite never having coached a day in his life before turning up at Shameless Park.

If they let that through then what is to stop coates / sheff weds owner agreeing to sponsor each other shirts for £30m a year.

Many corporate ways of getting around FFP rules and our owners will know what the options are. We will sell in Jan andiwouldbe astonished if we drifted into danger here, so chill - is my recommendation. Complacency of the highest order. This article details the financial record of all the Championship teams.
Stoke City has the highest losses with a net spend over the last five seasons: 113.7million loss
5 years is irrelevant 4 of those were in the premier league where the FFP loss is much higher we also made massive writedowns in our last set of premier league accounts to reduce the problems we face now.

Why don’t we just dress up the family pumping money into the club as a sponsorship deal...?

Can’t BET365 not sponsor (enter into an advertising arrangement) us for an almost indefinite amount of money. Who sets out what’s commercially at arms length?

Couldn’t Bet365 buy all the players and then lease them to the Club for a nominal fee. That way the cost is off the Clubs books and the wages could be subsidised by Bet365

It stops rich owners funding their clubs that's FFP in a nut shell.

When Pete bought the club before promotion he said he wanted other people investing on the board as the board is too small. Don't think we've tried too hard to get investment

What a load of shit FFP is. All it does is encourage billionaires to buy clubs with big gates like Wolves, Leeds, Villa etc. safe in the knowledge that no one else will be able to outspend them and giving a safe passage into the Premier League. If it was removed I reckon you’d get less speculative buying of clubs because the passage into the Premier League for these kind of clubs would be much less predictable.

It feels as though ffp is hamstringing most clubs. When the players that get snapped up by prem clubs but cant get game time and are loaned to us for huge figures, just feels like anywhere other than the prem is being screwed. How can prem clubs post such massive losses such as Chelsea and nothing happens to them

If we cant get our house in order now with all the scrimping and saving we're doing and end up breaching then Scholes truly does deserve the sack. As an accountant if he cant get this right then he truly does deserve to go.

It was initially introduced to help clubs going out of business through shitty directorship. But it does also hinder clubs like ourselves who have a multi millionaire owner.
