I find that list depressing to say the least It’s only this Century Harry, but I get your point. The Millennials are a different breed to us & it’s not their fault.

It's a bullshit list.
Ths Arctic Monkeys first two albums are masterpieces and they're both nowhere to be seen.

This still sounds wonderfully fabulous There were three hour long documentaries on the making of Back to Black, Nirvana (Nevermind) and The Wailers (Catch a Fire) last night on BBC 4. Amy's is such a tragic story. She never made another studio album after this!

It very much sounded like she wasn't anywhere ready for the incredible success of the record.

Look matey that old bastard Harry doesn't need any encouragement Oh, it's bad though ';; Hot Fuss by The Killers was the first CD album I ever bought, think I was 13, but songs like 'Mr Brightside' and 'Somebody told me' got done to death so I can't even appreciate that anymore, even though I loved it at the time.

All the top bands were touring constantly unlike today where you have a few rip off stadium gigs

There are so many fabulous albums not featured in that top 40 of the 70s I suppose the only saving grace is that no Led Zep albums made it on the list despite all the hype at the time

All the top bands were touring constantly unlike today where you have a few rip off stadium gigs Not just rock Artists line Joni Mitchell, Jackson browne, we’re heading the emerging California scene, Steve Wonder and Marvin Gaye we’re doing stuff Far removed from the pop of Motown From the UK Elton John, Queen, Bowie we’re making great stuff At the same time Elvis, stones, the who were continuing to make good music And towards the end of the 70s acts like blonde, the clash, move us like punk, disco (if that’s your thing) and two tone were coming out with great stuff Loads more I’ve missed. Bee gees, ABBA, Bob Marley, glam rock etc etc I’m sure someone will post the shit stuff as well but the 70s is as diverse as you will get any decade of music
