Wolverhampton's a "vibrant city" apparently.
I wasn't aware that "vibrant" is now a synonym for "boarded up, derelict shithole". Learn something new every day!

City of Wells, Somerset. Not on the list. Englands smallest city, and so small most people know each other by name, or at least who you are and what you do.

That’s what getting rid of Ant and Dec does for a city.

I got to 49 and saw London - realised it was a load of rubbish. The most unfriendly selfish place I have ever been to and I include Paris in that (I've only ever been to London, Paris and Llandrindod Wells, sheltered life fuelled by a love of guillotines and pie & mash - we got lost when Wales)
Anyway, London - my biggest grip the rules on escalators - I now deliberately stand in the mddle on any airport escalator. It serves me no other benefit other than knowing it might piss someone else off and that has what London has done to me - a focus on annoying others as opposed to self happiness.
To be fair York should be higher and the people inYmouth are really friendly

#1 Newcastle ? That’s what getting rid of Ant and Dec does for a city. Me and my dad follow boxing all over the U.K. Last year we went to Newcastle to see one of our favourite boxers Lewis Ritson compete for the European lightweight title. Now Lewis fucked up against someone he should have beat. However, the generosity of the geordies towards my Dad, who’s mobility is lacking (as an OAP) was astonishing. People couldn’t be nicer to my dad in a number of ways, that I’ve not seen anywhere else. Take a bow Geordies and your city is beautiful too.

"Stoke-on-Trent is a city that has plenty of things to do and see, yet still feels like a cosy small town. Residents here are genuinely warm and friendly, with a great hospitality scene. It’s no wonder it’s been voted one of the friendliest cities in the UK."
That will be our world renowned 'cultural quarter' then will it with a scabby kebab shop in it?

I wonder whether this was actually ranked by considering which were the most unfriendly & working down.
Bradford: visitors noted that wandering off the beaten track is ill advised for non-locals. Same for most cities, I guess, but yep I'll concur with that about Bradford.
Leeds: While locals aren’t rude, it’s more of a “polite but unfriendly” vibe. Not sure who they found that was polite to them. Must have been another visitor.

It's been the same since Adam were a lad!

I wandered off the beaten track in Bradford three weeks ago to go to an Anarchist book fair and gig.I found it was absolutely fine. The 1 in 12 club.

Might have been to a gig there in the distant past myself. Memory's a bit hazy. Certainly been to a couple at a similar co-operative / anarchist place in Leeds.
I enjoy Bradford by day, go there reasonably often. Not so often at night nowadays.
Despite the look of the street, that area's not too bad although there's a fair number of muggings, reports of threatening behaviour etc. around there if you check the police map of Bradford ***. A mere stone's throw from the city centre. There's plenty of areas in Bradford I wouldn't want to venture to on foot after dark. But, as I said, that's the same in most cities.
*** no suggestion that any of these coincided with your visit, EB

Derry 8th friendliest City They cannot be serious. Stray out of the City Walls down into the Bogside and have a drink in some of the local pubs and see how friendly it is..or walk up through the Bogside to the Creggan Estate and go into a shop and ask for something in an English accent.
