I like to think I am a reasonable person most of the time but there was something about him that I never liked right from the off. Bad I know because everyone deserves a chance but there was something about the cut of his jib that I just didn't like. And so it proved. Was glad he pissed off and yes his career record does show we didn't miss out on anything. Bullet dodged. Spot on. We had that Open Day at the Brit pre-season, when you could trail round the dressing rooms and board rooms and so on, with a training session on the pitch. I met Quitter face to face, smirking on the touch-line , I held out my hand and said "Welcome to Stoke"...and he looked down his nose and turned his back. Obviously I'm used to that reaction from women, but not as a paying supporter at the Brit.

A 'Where were you?' moment right up there with the death of Elvis and the Twin Towers. (And yes, Elvis is dead!) I was on the A217 going up Reigate Hill in Surrey when news broke on the radio. I was in the Ramada hotel on the business park near to where Swanseas new ground is when I heard it.
