We lived in a cardboard box, just off Caroline St, Neck End. We were lucky, some poor sods didn't even have a box, never mind a lid.

I was supposed to spent most of my time when I was there playing football for Les Lowe, my year, year above and year below, Saturday's and Sunday's, cricket for school and Ashcombe Park Kidsgove League, first's and seconds, didn't have a lot of time for learning. I remember Les Lowe...Sadastic Bastard...He'd be on a charge in these PC days. Deffo shagging Mrs Bird...Lucky Twat. Mr Horribin was in charge during my days at Moorside. He too, incidentally was shagging Mrs Bird...

Did you go to the same school as Sir Stan? No as he grew up in Hanley and only moved to Penkhull in mid/late1980s. Of course, now I remember he went to Wellington Road School. I remember going there to play a chess match when I was at Wolstanton Grammar, and, as a few other posters have put on this thread, at the same time as John Farmer.

Born at Fanny Deakins in Chesterton, but lived in Knutton, then Clayton, Butterton and been in Spain for last 11 years. Stoke are and have always been in my blood. How good was it when I went an hour up the motorway to see us play Valencia and spend time with about 7,500 fans in the city and the mestalla. WOW WOW WOW Seems to be quite a few of us here who were born in 'The Fanny' Ever likely it became known as 'Red'!

Born in Salford Manchester, moved to Stoke aged 5 and followed the Potters since. I have more of a right to support the s*** than 75000 of the 76000 that go glory hunting every fortnight but not for me. UTP

Next to 'Place of Birth' on my birth certificate it says 'Stoke-on-Trent'.
All that needs to be said on the subject really.

You must have been there about the same time as me. We joked about it at the time but it wasn't until adult life that I realised just how - ahem - 'inappropriate' some of the behaviour was.

Born in Cornwallis Street Stoke. Moved to Woodhouse Street Stoke. Moved to Boothen/West End when 12. Penkhull when 15. Depending on your age, there's a good chance we knew each other. My username says a lot, but I went to St Peter's Infant/Junior school with loads of people from around from Selwyn St. and Cornwallis st., used to have loads of mates in West End (Grandparents lived in Regent St. for nigh 50 years) and also know loads of people from Penkhull too.

Knutton Didn't Ronald Reagan once say "You aint seen Knutton yet"? I was born in Stone (nursing home) but lived in Lightwood till I went to Uni-"somewhere in the Fens". Moved to south Manchester for work. Someone wrote of me in the school magazine that I was "an avid Stoke City fan" which I proudly remain. I had nothing but contempt for the "glory hunters" who supported Man U. but never went to matches.
