The penno the ref gave them was plain and simple cheating. Never a penno in a million years. Lucky lucky Arsenal, and for the younger ones on this board they can now see why we detest the bastards.
Then there was this when the ref gave a corner at the end of the game that led to the penalty they got. Banks was furious that the ref gave a corner. We should have won this game easily.

Never seen that before Arsenals penalty was soft at best I watched it about 5 times and I'm still not sure what it was for. As OS says, cheating, plain and simple, no other explanation.

It was a programme seller with a white coat. He played Charlie George onside and ran through and Radford scored for the Arse.

Didnt know wasn't going til the Friday night, was fobbed off with they'd decided it wasn't safe for kids, I was gutted. Then the way the match went made it even worse, I was convinced it was all because I wasn't there!

Wonder what would the situation be if it was Stoke who scored?

PLEASE NO. Still have nightmares about that game and how we were cheated out of an FA Cup Final Never forget walking out of Hillsborough with my brother 5 minutes after full time to hear a big cheer go up..when we eventually found our coach (I was 7) it was deadly quite and we couldn't understand why.

I was on the Bullens Road paddock (as it was then, terrace) where away fans go currently, never forget it. Robbed, there’s a photo knocking about somewhere showing Bob McNab clearing the ball off the line, clearly showing it a good foot over. Where’s VAR when you needed it ? .........southern maggots.

Good to hear the dulcet tones of Mr Cholmondeley-Warner once again. Orwell said: "History is written by the winners." They get to edit the highlights as well.

Saw Peter Dobing standing outside a hotel in Crewe smoking his pipe, I was cycling to work for an afternoon shift, we spoke about the replay at Everton, even though it was 28 years after the game he was still upset about the penalty & the offside Arsenal winner, but what bothered him most was at half time 1 nil up & dominating Arsenal, waddo told them to hang on to the lead & basically defend for the next 45mins, it was a fascinating conversation & I ended up 1 hour late for work !

Arsenal have been cheating since they cheated their way into the football league. Sadly Stoke were complicit in that. Not the only club however it's long been contended that money changed hands when they were voted in.

Dont get all this hatred towards Arsenal when from what i've seen and read about these 2 semi-finals it was the referee & linesman that shafted us, they (Arsenal) just took advantage of their shitness, would'nt Stoke have done the same?

Banksie said he dived but he never touched the ball it went out for a goal kick but for some reason Arsenal were given that corner which resulted in that penalty.
Also there was on 3 minutes added time but this all occurred in the 5th minute of added time, cheating at its worse. Hated Arsenil then hate them now and they are not North London either they come from Woolwich their local team is Charlton

Great story. If that was your first post, do you have any more like that? I'll be going back to Hillsbrough in 3 weeks, it always reminds me of going with my dad for the first semi-final against Arsenal. They always seemed to have the Indian sign on us in those days, but I never forget going to Highbury to see big John Ritchie score the only goal of the match.
