I must admit I've never heard of this fella. Just looked him up, 45 years old, German, played in Hamburg and Hannover, goodness only knows what he made of the town of Barnsley, anyway it doesn't matter now, he's a gonna alright! Another in the German Youth coach to English manager mould. He’ll go back to Germany and probs get a good job a la Wagner. He’s a good coach.

Wonder if he shared the same opinion of Barnsley's women as Georgi Hristov did!

Fans are mightily pissed off with his departure. Why? Changing manager is always the answer.

That's kind of amazing. I'd been labouring under this impression that we're one of the most "powerful" clubs in the country but I guess that's not true. Bournemouth is the one that stands out.

Bear in mind that’s the collective wealth of the owners, not how much they actually plug into the football club itself. But yeah, Demin has bankrolled the “minnows” Bournemouth for years. As I've said in the consortium thread, I think plenty would be interested in buying Stoke, you only have to look at the diversity of ownership in the Leagues to see that. Not that I want it to happen necessarily.

Their fans seem to think Chris Hughton is going to turn up at any moment...I really can’t see that one.

Mark Hughes managing a struggling side containing a number of talented foreigners that can’t really be arsed to put a shift in.
What could possibly go wrong?

Absolutely nothing has come out of the club. There is not even a hint of a change that I can see, why not just get behind the manager and team next game, if we win the wheels are back on track

www.skysports.com/football/news/11735/11835547/millwall-approach-wycombe-over-hiring-manager-gareth-ainsworthMillwall held initial talks with Wycombe over the weekend about hiring their manager Gareth Ainsworth.
The Championship club are understood to have made a formal approach for permission to speak to the 46-year-old and enquired about potential compensation.
Ainsworth and out-of-work Gary Rowett are the two names in the frame for the job of succeeding Neil Harris in The Den dugout.
But one source has indicated to Sky Sports News that there may also be a third man under consideration, which could be former player Tim Cahill.

Meanwhile we sit there twiddling our thumbs Bring it on I say. The more teams who create uncertainty and turmoil the better. Ron Liddle did a very good article the other day about the staistical analysis of changing managers and guess what? It made very little difference compared with the quality of the squad and the stability of the owners. One or two teams may get an improvement but for the majority things will either stay the same or get worse. If enough teams pull the trigger we will drift to safety purely on the back of a relative degree of consistency and stability.

The wealth of the owners is largely irrelevant because Denise Coates has turned off the money tap when she announced Stoke must be self sufficient. And she is right to do so - otherwise we face FFP sanctions that at the moment would see us relegated and put pay to any hopes of promotion. Some clubs may have got away with it in the past but Birmingham is an example of the fact there is now more attention being paid to club's accounting practices. Even if we got a filthy rich moron to plough millions into the club for no good reason we'd be in the same place. The flow of money may have been slowed (for good reason) but we have owners who care and we're very unlikely to end up like Bolton or Bury. It's highly likely the filthy rich moron would come to their senses and abandon the club to extinction once it became apparent the last of their personal wealth were in danger of vanishing into a money pit.
