I’d respect him far more if he just acknowledged the win, didn’t bang on like he’s won the league and go to several media outlets to bang on about how great he is and how he works hard! That’s all a given, it’s expected you work hard man. Have some decorum Nath. Show a bit of class So If the manager of Stoke City is invited to be on a radio show, they should decline? If he refuses, "Embattled Stoke Manager Refuses To Face Press" would probably be the headline. We all know this is one tiny step in the right direction and has to be followed by many many many more, but why do we have to micro critique every single thing that happens? Not at all, he should decide if he wants to go on. Totally. What I don’t agree with is going on and acting like you’re top of the league and having a great season. It’s one win in 11. Perhaps play it a little cooler, rather than acting like a lottery winner.

The clip just shows him speaking and is edited, so we don't actually know what the questions were that he was asked do we? And remember on TS, they don't just have a quick 1 line question and then let the huest answer, it's a few mins of of conversation between the presenters where they'll mention several things and then say something like "What do you think to all that Nathan?" I.e. the answers from any guest always tend to go into many different things rather than them just being able to give a quick "Yes" or "No" That's a genuine question, as all i've seen is the clip on here and didn't hear the whole interview. Not really fair to judge without the context of what he was even asked really

Shout your successes from the roof-tops, sweep your failures under the rug. Being cool and acting as if our first win of the season is nothing exciting is the worst thing we could do - in my opinion. And yes, that's a personal style thing also, but there is so much to be negative about, why pick on how we react to the one good result we have had all season?

And weather he stays is not his decision at the moment. Me, I couldn't give a monkeys at the mo. Managers come and go all the time, it's just hitting on a good un.

I see it this way. Jones looks a bit of a dick. He sounds a bit of a dick. Only a dick could produce his results. You can see where this is going? You're obsessed by dick?

After one very, very overdue win he probably does need to wind his neck in and let the next and the next and the next performances do his talking.
And, yes, by that I do mean that I see him here for the forseeable - barring an absolute disaster or multiple tonkings tbh.
All conspiracy theories aside about who hugged who, after which games and tres emosh pressers, I really can't see him departing in the short term.
If they had pressed the trigger upstairs, mentally at least, we should be grateful for the fact that they learned from the LMH debacle, when they had no-one lined up at all or even anything resembling a plan.
And when (if they were sounding out potential replacements), the top (& only?) two said no, it was reprieve time and they were literally forced to "let's give him the Swansea game".
(& Hence the amazement on his face in the presser of course.)
But, all that said, I really don't think they ever wanted to press said trigger and still don't ideally. From an outside perspective, can we really afford ano manager failure and subsquent merry go round here? Ano multi million pound squad revamp and have ano large set of extremely well paid footballers in ano bomb squad? Come to that will FFP allow it, or anything near that?
No.
Nathan is, I think, a very, very lucky boy to be still here. His misdemeanours far, far outweigh his positives so far for me and I think he knows that.
I just hope he channels that new found belief into his players for the next games, performances and, hopefully, victories rather that more "me, me, me".

Its a fair enough assessment that if you ask me. I do however think he should get a fair bit of leeway over the fact he is sorting out one unholy mess that his predecessors created. But that is part of the job he took on and sort it he must. I really believe we literally can't afford to get rid now and we should all be praying to the football gods for some success over the next few weeks which will spring board us to steadier times. I've got everything crossed. Apart from me bollocks, I've only got one.

Albeit the "sorting out the unholy mess" bit is so intangible and, because no one has ever admitted to there ever being a mess remember - nor identified it (whatever or whoever "it" actually is) which makes it hard / impossible to quantify how much of his efforts and what % of his 14 hour days has gone into that particular aspect.
So some slack officially cut here.
That said, and as above, his debit column still outweighs his credit thus far for me and obvious mistakes have certainly contributed at least as much to our 'results' as the infamous "bad luck" narrative he's peddling exclusively.
So if he has genuinely got ano chance, that's the task in hand (& no doubt the brief from PC / JC) is a very simple one:
"Don't make any more !"
: )

Aye, fair. I think now he has got a decent win he will be under a bit more pressure to repeat it now. Lets all pray that is indeed the case and that his work sorting out the rabble of a squad behind the scenes is now pretty much complete meaning we will see more regular positive performances and wins.
