So yesterdays victory has given me the necessary stiffening of the fibres required to finally confront a league table forensically for the first time this season.
My conclusion is we have to finish above Reading and Barnsley, which we likely will, but who will be the other team?
Not Huddersfield, they have gone from equal bottom with us to out of the relegation zone in 5 short days and are off in a cloud of cats piss.
I suppose Wigan and Nathan's former charges Luton are the next most likely candidates, who else?

Jones has stopped making loads of changes and now the team is settling down and it shows. The win will be a massive boost now and we should start to climb the table. Hopefully we will be near mid table by Christmas.

Can’t believe we’re having a post with this title. Just sums up how bad things are when we’re discussing we have to finish above the likes of Reading.

Maybe do this exercise again after we've won 2 or 3 of our next 5 or 6 games. We've only won 1 (ONE) game lads, maybe this is just a tad premature, no matter how good the win was ? False dawns and all that ?

False dawns and all that ? After week upon week of feeling like shit, I think it’s nice to take a bit of positivity from our first decent showing / result. Agreed it’s only one win, but you can’t blame fans for taking a shred of good from what has been a pretty miserable time..

Totally agree - I'm not blaming anybody for being chuffed after the Swansea result. It's been an abysmal period since January and definitely since August. It's just that we've only won one game and yet a large number of fans seem convinced that Saturday's result is the start of our recovery. Welcome though that may be, I just feel we need to see the results before we celebrate too soon. We've all been here and seen our hopes dashed before haven't we ?

There was talk on here that we need to exhibit play off form for the last 80% of the season to stay up. All we really need to do is get 3 more points than say Barnsley and Reading And one other, I'm asking who the other might be?

Can’t believe we’re having a post with this title. Just sums up how bad things are when we’re discussing we have to finish above the likes of Reading. This is the healthiest post for ages - at last there is a realisation of where we are and just how tough this league is. Much better than the moaning about how we should be walking this league. Fortunately the players appear to have realised just how bad things are and are starting to knuckle down. It will be great if the fans started to focus on celebrating wins and much needed three points rather than moaning that a win might have scuppered their foolproof plan of changing the manager. I've no idea if Jones will be the manager come Xmas - his record isn't good despite the win and I think he may well be a goner. However the team putting in a shift and living up to their potential and the fans getting behind the team in what is a battle against relegation is far more important than who happens to be the manager,

Keep Badou and Etebo and we might have a decent sniff of finishing where we did last season. Both must have scouts twitching already and to lose them in January would be criminal.
