But the real question is, would he miss a penalty if he played for us.

Only just seen this post as have been travelling. But I'm positive that I was stood behind Milner waiting to board the 10.15pm Emirates to Dubai plane on Saturday. He looked like an 18 year old aspiring footballer, everything nike including the cap, tight fitting gear and he did look very fit (no not like thatš) He was with another guy,who I didn't recognise. Hmmm....That's all really. I'd have Nike tick tattooed on me for the sponsorship he probably receives.

James Milner is my favourite non stoke player.
Played every position on the pitch during a brilliant career and won the bleep test at every club in every season hes played.
A man completely and 100% dedicated to being the best he can possibly be.

Iād love Wijnaldum too and Origi. Oh sorry got to go, Kelly Brook is knocking on my door. Even when on the cusp of a relatively amusing comment, you go and fuck it up talking nonsense... Out of your wildest dreams you pluck Wijnaldum and Origi from that Liverpool squad? And your fantasy woman, as of 2019, is Kelly Brook? Spend less time on here and more time outside... I was picking good pros like Milner..... I thought that was quite obvious š

Which Liverpool player trained with Liverpool's under-23s for the FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury during the Premier League's winter break? Which player was in the stands to cheer them on?
James Milner!

Absolutely outstanding career. Master stroke by Liverpool getting him when he left Man City. No ego, happy to laugh at himself but completely dependable on the pitch.
Will make a great coach. Public persona is that he's to quiet to be a manager but who knows.

The exact footballing polar opposite to Imbula!

I get all the good stuff being said about Milner and he is clearly a top, top pro, and very nice man. I just don't rate him as a top International footballer and can't understand how he got so many caps. To me he is a "jack of all trades" but has never been the Best English Player for any position...the archetypal 'utility player'. maybe it's just me

Giggs as a footballer perhaps not so much as a brother though. Good shout, but the fact he only represented his country as and when he could be fucked counts against him in the "Professionalism" stakes i'd say

Good shout, but the fact he only represented his country as and when he could be fucked counts against him in the "Professionalism" stakes i'd say He could have played more but 64 caps isnāt to be sniffed at as wales didnāt qualify for much back then and werent most he skipped friendlies ?

I remember Gordon Taylor telling me years ago that Milner was the model professional. I believe he was also one of the first players to use the PFA for negotiations rather than pay the normal exorbitant cuts which agents take.

As I said, a top pro, I just didn't see why he got to play on the wing for England when there were better options, in that position, to strengthen the team. At club level a 'utility player' can be priceless (James Milner certainly has been), I just think that at International level you have the pick of the crop and so don't really need such a player in your squad...

Disagree. Someone who can cover multiple positions is priceless in tournament football.
