Anyway...
RE: Hogan, I think I hear LLawrence make a reference to booze and I've seen it on here a bit - Did he get smashed the night before a game or something?

Anyway... RE: Hogan, I think I hear LLawrence make a reference to booze and I've seen it on here a bit - Did he get smashed the night before a game or something? Badou is the biggest twat at the club but he makes us better. I couldn’t give a monkeys if he does tbh. He seems to know where the net is. Clearly doesn’t offer much more than that but if he’s scoring then who cares? Agree with your first point - we're a better side for Ndiaye in there (Interesting to hear NJ say how wonderful a person he is) Though I'm not sure the relevance to the Hogan/booze point? Yeah I'd play him and Gregory, from what I can surmise you aren't a fan. Gregory's finishing was abysmal today but he's still 10x the player Vokes is at present. (although I had tickets for Crawley I couldn't make it down nor have I seen highlights which I think is why he was dropped, but he has to be worth a shout?)

Gregory is essential for our pressing game. His got decent pace, lots of energy and stamina. If he finds his scoring boots too he'll be perfect. I don’t think he owns a pair sadly, if he did we would be at the other end of the table.

Gregory and Hogan looked great vs Derby and both look hopeless on their own. Just makes sense to give them a go up front together for a few games.

Hogan doesn't do much in the games on the evidence so far but he's the only one who can finish. He tucked away the winner when Gregory and Allen have missed easier similar chances. He has the instinctive positional sense none of our other strikers do. So it has to be him and 1 other. Vokes is a lump, Gregory can't hit a barn door but runs around a lot and Campbell just can't be arsed

I’d love to know what jones was saying you Hogan at the end, Jones looked like he was having a right go, Hogan was looking pretty confused/indifferent and clucas was laughing so I have absolutely no idea what was going on.

Why not pick the same starting 11 and make exactly the same changes as we did against Swans? It was a winning formula and it worked, so why change it?
OS.

They should have kept this to themselves. It looked like good management to throw him on late on. Turns out Hogan had to blackmail his way into the side! . Seriously though, Hogan looks our main threat he needs to be in the team never mind scraping into the squad. Campbell was poor on Saturday IMO. NJ runs hot, I get the feeling he’s ready to fall out with anybody at anytime, he needs to calm down. Ric was a pain in the arse but he won you games, so you’d allow him some slack. I don’t know what Hogan did to warrant being out of the side, but he’s our best finisher, we need him on the pitch. Cut him some slack NJ.

If anything, it’s just a striker saying he is going to go in and be as focussed as he can be, winning over a manager with reservations on him and then scoring the winner as he said he would.

I really want to know what has happened so that Hogan wasn’t meant to be in the squad in the first place

Why are we so amateur.

So Hogan was going to be left in the Potteries at the weekend until he approached Jones's trusted sports scientist Jared Roberts-Smith saying that he would score the winning goal if he got picked...
The sport scientist got him in the team...
When does Jared takeover the reins fully?

The sport scientist got him in the team... When does Jared takeover the reins fully? I am still undecided what we should be doing with Jones. I was very pleased initially with his appointment and was looking forward to his impact this season. But after looking a team without even basic organisation I lost belief. Saturday’s excellent performance though really revived me - then I read this and I am baffled, ridiculous if team selection is truly decided like this.

Two up front has been and always will be the way forward. I'm not so sure. I once met a girl that liked one up front, and one behind.

Hogan & Gregory should start. He's a belting finisher hogan is, not just that though he gets that goal because he anticipates the rebound and follows it in, he can sniff a goal out, that's what goalscorers do, it's a goalscorers instinct.
He's on 3 goals now and he's hit the post a few times allready and he has hardly played

If I go up to the sports scientist and tell him I'm going to score the winner will I get a game ? What a strange way to pick your team....mind you nothing should suprise us with Nathan Tombola Jones

I don't know what the issue is. Jones has seen a player with a complete focus and belief in himself and said 'right son, prove it to me'. No problem with that.

He's the only one who looks like scoring. I'm not sure why he was dropped at the start of the season. Makes no sense at all. All I can think of is he must have called Jones a happy clapper, or tried to wake up Hart from his afternoon nap.
