Why are you seemingly so quick to jump on someone like Gregory but not Campbell? Gregory doesn’t have the best finishing. But his hold up play and work rate can add something to the team so long as he partners with someone. Because Gregory is the epitome of why we’re generally so bad. All effort no talent. He messed an easy situation up yesterday to allow his partner to score..... Gregory is all effort no talent, but that's hardly the epitome of why we're generally so bad, it's the opposite in fact. We've had some extremely talented players over the past three years, it's the lack of effort that has been our downfall, and signing players who didn't want to be here.

To say he has no talent is extremely harsh. He isn't the best finisher but his hold up play is good and he brings players into the game. Our best partnership in my mind is Gregory and Hogan, yet we've seen very little of it all season apart form their excellent cameo together at Charlton. Gregory can and will do all of the spade work for a finisher like Hogan. Given the manager has gone back to a system that is close to his diamond, in the 4-1-3-2 he's been playing recently, it gives me hope that we will see more of that in the future.

We got him on a free and personally I think he's been a great signing. 100 percenter and you would think a great lad to have about the place.

For all the big money that we've spent on expensive players who have let us down I wish that we had bought Defoe a few years ago , to go alongside Crouch and others. I think that we could have got him off Sunderland. He has scored a hatrick today for Rangers. I remember him as an 18 year old , playing against us for Bournemouth. He scored the only goal in a one nil win , we couldn't get anywhere near him. He could have kept us in the Prem.

His finishing has been the problem, playing up top on his own is never going to work out for Gregory. Him and Hogan could work, I’m not writing him off yet but I can’t see us getting 10+ goals a season from him.
