Last season they sacked a manager whilst they were in and around the top 6. They were ridiculed for doing it.
Fast forward 6 months, new manager and are top of the league looking stronger than ever.
Good owners.

It's the way to go obviously (to us but not Stoke).

Good owners. D Moore was sacked, to a fair degree, due to the influence of the current Luton manager, Smith. He doesn't seem to have been a good replacement for Nathan atm.
Bilic is of a different calibre. Pulisball seems so long ago...

Their recruitment has been pretty much faultless since being in the Championship. Helped of course by the £6m we gave them for McClean.

Wonder if they've got nut jobs pining for him and claiming he wasn't sacked

It was interesting on Football Focus item about QPR when Warburton said he asked if they wanted an evolution or the hand grenade approach. They let 15 go and got 14 in. OK they are no great shakes but a damn sight better than us. What it did show is decisive action by the hierarchy there, Les Ferdinand their DoF.

Billic was an excellent appointment for you lot. Very doubtful we'll be competing with you at the top of the table and Leeds are shithouses, so good luck with the title.

There’s no doubt that a lot of championship clubs seem to have a lot more coherent leadership than we do. From what’s been in evidence for the past few years our master plans appear to have been drawn up on the back of a fag packet.

I said on another thread last night....
Forest hired O'Neil roughly about the same time as we hired Jones..... Forest got rid of O'Neil during the preseason, and brought in Lamouchi!!!
They may not have looked world beaters last night, but by the end of the evening, they were sitting top!!!
My point of this, is that Forest weren't afraid of hiring and firing!!!

(Behave - no adding an 'r' in the post)

(Behave - no adding an 'r' in the post) Furlong looks a very astute bit of business too and Diangana is another very canny loan signing.

Wonder if they've got nut jobs pining for him and claiming he wasn't sacked No, but Albion fans have not have to put up with the results that SCFC supporters have seen month after month. Additionally, Stoke fans can point to relative success with Our Tone, whereas all we experienced was latter-day Pulis, scorched earth bollox.

And that's the Pulis we'd be getting, when he pitched up here the first time we went on a long winless run, no reason to suppose it would be any different this time around. Fair point about the results we've suffered, it'd be interesting to see how many of your lot would exhibit this post Pulis syndrome given a similar experience to ours.

WBA were sold in 2016 and it is clear that the new owners have a much more 'businesslike' approach to their club than our owners seem to have. I admire the loyalty that Peter Coates has shown to a number of managers over his latest tenure, however, even he admitted that sometimes he can be 'over loyal'. It's just a shame that this only applies to managers, and his CEO seems to be bomb proof The "process" hasn't been working for almost 4 years now, so why will the owners not review this and make the changes at the top?

I don't know how accurate the Transfermarkt figures are, but the SCFC squad is valued at £94.9 million and WBAFC at £73.2 million.
17 points and a division in between
SCFC fans are undoubtedly being shortchanged...

All the teams around the top five have foreign coaches who play quality direct football which works. They all bought in some quality foreign players who shit all over some of the home grown players. I’m not saying all foreign coaches and players are the way to go and we’ve had some shithouses, but it’s something we have ignored over the last couple of seasons. If Jones goes I dread to think who we’ll get in as some of the prehistoric dinosaurs we’ve been linked to are scary.

They played a young winger yesterday who looks like he had a lot to learn but he’s learning on the job and got fortunate with his goal. We let our bright young winger go out on loan whilst we persevered with a complete utter useless twat we brought from them

When we played Swansea last game in the Premiership they were protesting against their board and selling their supposedly better players
WBA were in an even bigger mess, or so it appeared at the time
We bought Clucas and McClean from each of them
As the table in this thread illustrates we are a very badly run club

West Brom made a number of changes at board level as well when it was clear what direction they were going in. I'm not sure they've got a fucking bean counter running the show.

West Brom made a number of changes at board level as well when it was clear what direction they were going in. I'm not sure they've got a fucking bean counter running the show. Ironically, WBAFC do indeed have a bean counter in charge. Hated by all and sundry, Mark Jenkins (who had been J Peace's trusted second in command and hatchet man) was bought back to take over the running of the club by our Chinese owners after the previous chairman, John Williams (ex-Blackburn) had burnt his way though a £35million cash pile, and caused the club to seek overdraft facilities. Nicknamed 'Dr No', due to him saying no to any initiative that costs money, he allegedly turned down a employee travel claim because the claimant had tried to claim for a luxury coffee as opposed to a standard variety. Hated or not, the WBA bean counter seems to be doing a better job than his Stoke counterpart.
