6, looked good for the first 30, then we shit it, they got their act together and went to plan B and just hit the back post and targeted Edwards whenever they got the chance, Jones took to long to change it when it was clear they were coming into the game. Edwards has let everyone down with that performance today and probably put the final nail into the coffin. We were cruising until the England goalie dropped a dolly and fucked up all the hard work from the previous 40 minutes.

I can't be arsed to rate him today but I'm giving him 2/10 for his whole period with us.
He's been a disaster.

Sets up team and sends them out. look okay for a bit opposing manager/ team adapts jones left clueless, as stoke cede a foothold and threat ill prepared players make mistakes .... and repeat
would have been 5/10 if this was the first time we’d lost this way. But for a perpetual failure to learn, correct and prepare the team 1/10.

I think most managers in the division worked out long ago that, however well we start, we are going to miss most of our chances and their team will be unlucky to concede 2 and they will never concede 3. Add to that, the inevitability that they will score a very high percentage of the chances they create and that once they score 1 the chances are they will score more. So opposition managers only have to tell their players to keep plugging away - especially against our full backs - and the goals and the points will come. I can suggest that NJ needs full backs who can stop a decent percentage of crosses and cover the back post for those crosses from the opposite wing that do get through. I could suggest that he moves Clucas to left back and the left back to midfield where his energy is useful. I might even suggest that Ince and Powell are best not played together and that, if Powell is fit he should be played in the number 10 position with a specialist striker alongside Gregory. But I really can't be bothered to give him a mark out of 10, mainly because most of the problems seem to have reared their ugly head long before the team is even selected for each game. There appears to be a cloud hanging over the club at the moment such that any points we get will come more by luck than judgement. The really annoying thing is that for 20 minutes last night (as in many other games) we actually did seem to have a decent number of players who can cut the mustard but they know, just as we know, that a mistake is only ever a second away and (at present) that inevitable mistake will cause a collapse ot morale and confidence and ruin any chance of a win.

Still confused by his substitutions (as usual).
Why was Cousins on the substitutes bench if he wasn't going to be brought on to replace Badou when he went off injured? I know he isn't very good (and shouldn't be on the bench) but if he wasn't going to use him in the one scenario where he actually needed a defensive midfield player, why did he even bother having him on the bench and not a different option?
When Powell went off the obvious like for like replacement again would have seemed to be Duffy. In the 10 minutes before he went off Powell had dropped a bit deeper and looked the only player capable of creating something around the edge of the box, which is exactly the role Duffy played for Sheffield Utd. Again, if he wasn't going to use him in that role, what was he on the bench for?
