Chilli mayonnaise? Baguette? Blimey, you're not planning on turning the place into a wine bar, are you? If you start serving hummus & playing modern jazz, I'm taking my custom elsewhere. I like the sound of the deap heat though. I might try some on the ham sarnies next time I'm in. I heartily concur with everything else you say. Although not having any red wine in, I made do with turpentine & Mr Sheen whilst watching Strictly. Must be from the same alcohol family as gin, it made me weep.
Always Good to have a new cocktail recipe I feel that the demise of the original establishment was due to the bar going a little 'Prem. wine bar' All fur coat and no pantaloons, prawn cocktail buns and crinkle crisps. Buying in canapes at extortionate prices from dodgy business men from North London. Not doing due diligence where my foreign imports were concerned.Well, back to basics. The most exotic will be some Welsh rarebit Cheese on toast? Now you're talking.
We are Stoke - we know who we are

The most exotic will be some Welsh rarebit I haven't had any Welsh rarebit for years - I'd forgotten all about it. I think I'll have to pop down to this place for a pint of scrumpy and a plate of Welsh rarebit on toast. Is it always on, or is it just on the 'specials board' from time to time? And, as a special special, I wonder how a Welsh rarebit oatcake might go down?

Now we're talking aren't we? In readiness for those cold winter days by the fire! I was thinking about the traditional way of making it but just saw a recipe where Guinness was added as an alternative to other liquids (oatcake on the side for those who want to mix 'n' match ) Can't go wrong I'd say. Now, all we need is for Nath to produce that long-awaited team to be proud of and some stonking good results come a matchday.' Sorted' as they like to say 'darn sarf! I'll get Staffsoatcake in before the end of the week to clean out the chimney, he'll do anything for a pint and a pack of mouldy old scratchings

Here we go again after that brief respite Well, by popular demand, ok, 2 of you I've prepared the special rarebit made with a splash or two of Guinness. Jug of Scrumpy on the side (nothing like 'mixing yer toasties' as the rarebit (think about it ) would say! Now, I've concocted a cocktail for the day (no need to know what's in it) It's a Cocky Campbell, named after the goal celebration I expect from him when he scores today We can but hope and pray for those of us so inclined that we get a win today. Wouldn't it be wonderful to get back on track and start to enjoy football and Saturday nights again?! So, with that, I wish the lads all the best and say GOAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN STOKE! Get us all that win please!

Well, having just heard Nath's interview I'd better leave him a bottle or two on the bar for later! He sounds as though he enjoys a tipple! Rioja Gran Reserva maybe or some sort of cheeky Chardonnay? If he's lucky he can have one of my famous steaks with chips. Looks like he needs a good feed! Probably all that stress!

Well done, F, this winning run must be down to the Bar opening again. So the red and white tipples should be a nice Côte Rôtie for the red, and a bottle or two of Condrieu for the white. Have a happy Saturday evening. You have made a lot of people very happy.

Well Stokief, you've done it again. Top bananas. Putting on the crackers with cottage cheese for Saturday lunch to "honour" the oppostion was inspired.
What'll you be having on for Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday? Or is it Sheffield Tuesday on Wednesday? I'll be in for it whatever it is if I can work out the oppostion and the day.
To be honest, I'm still coming round after the celebrations on Saturday night. Those purple shots you were giving out to remember our great 90's away kit were belting. What were they again? Lavender toilet duck? Very nice, whatever.

I'm under pressure now to keep the results coming but I believe in myself and what I'm doin' here, I always 'ave done I'll keep workin' 48 hours a day just like I did when I had a bar in Luton I've got a tremendous bunch of dogs, cats not to mention the 'amster, ferret and budgie and a huge bull and a worried sheep that BELIEVE in what I'm doing and I think buying in to it. I've just got to keep creating the right kind of cocktail and improvin' the bar snacks and I promise I'll give you that bar to be proud of . A winnin' bar! It's challengin' but I thrive on it ('ope you've read this with a Welsh accent, if not, go back to the start and read it again ) I'm glad you liked the lavendar' 'ay up Duck' Mr Q. I do like to be resourceful I shall be opening tomorrow evening, gawd willin' and getting the crystal ball out pre-match I can't promise success all of the time but I will be trying my best....and those who know me say I'm very trying!

Ok. Very , very unfortunate and let's hope that neither player is missing for long, especially Pete however, stay positive, stay focused, stay strong, stay together. We can still do it! Duffy I'm sure would like to stick it to Wednesday being Utd. I'm going to mix an extra cocktail just for him A Dynamo Duffy. I mean, it would be apt wouldn't it?

I'll hold my hands up. Last night was my fault. I'd failed to work out who we were playing on what day and appealed to a higher authority - Mrs Q. She said we were defintely playing Tuesday on Wednesday so I should relax and watch an old film with.
The film was ok, and I'm not overly fussed about missing the match but I was so looking forward to a slice of Owls pie. Hey ho.
Onwards and sidewards. I'll be in for the Millwall game on Saturday lunch, no mistakes to be made there.
Stokief, line me up a pint of not-too-bitter, another one of them lavender Ey-up-Duck chasers and a good helping of slow-roasted Lions please.

I can't say that I'm brimmin' with confidence. I've had a lot to contend with this week. There's two loverly blokes, john and Peter who like to put a bit of money now and then into the business. Wonderful blokes they are. Anyway, they keep wantin' me to go in to their office and 'ave a chat about somethin' or other. I keep sayin' that it's lovely that they want a chin wag but I'm pretty busy at the moment and if they're still around I'll pop back for a nice cuppa at about 'alf past three.Been doin' it for weeks now they 'ave! I wave 'em ta ta as I leave and they always look a bit crestfallen. I s'pose it's because they're disappointed I can't stay and listen to their old stories again and again ANYways, I've been in and out of the vet. The hamster's pulled his side spinnin' too fast on his wheel. The dog's got a bit of a muscular strain..he's always up to something so I'm not surprised and the the budgie needed stitches on his false wing! So, the bar food may be a bit of a mish-mash tomorrow, pit of a pick n mix, a bit hit and miss. Just hoping I can cobble something together and fingers crossed it works. Failin' that there's always just being reliant on the booze to get us through, I find that always works!
