Many people don't like Tony Pulis (I suppose all he did was take us to the Premier League and keep us there, take us to Europe and an FA Cup final), but if you had to choose between hiring Pulis for a third term, or see Stoke in League One, which would you choose? Because at this rate, who else would want to come to manage Stoke?!

Right now, at this precise moment in time, I'd welcome him with open arms but only because of how far we've fallen.
Once safe I'd be wishing we'd gone for someone new.
We need a proven manager who will unite the fans...

It’s all very well people saying “I’d take him til the end of the season”, but it wouldn’t work like that, we’d be stuck with him and long term it would be damaging.

What makes you think the slide stops in league 1. With our current financial outgoings and reducing TV money, this ends in administration, a points deduction and God knows what division.
I'd def take Pulis until end of season, reasonable wage, but a huge 'keep us up' bonus

So you choose League One then. He has a much higher win ratio than your Tone, so I wouldn't be so sure. Plus he can't half dance.

What makes us think that Pulis would want to return anyway?
He’s been here, done it and got the t shirt. He doesn’t need the money. He knows he wouldn’t be a popular choice If he did come back, we’d be asking him to do exactly what we did when he first came- save us from the drop.
It’s like the whole club is in some type of viscously cruel time warp, may as well get Brammer and Darrel Russel back.
Who am I kidding, he’d be back in a flash, wouldn’t he? 🧢🧢🧢

It never ceases to amaze me how people feel the need to rewrite history, I should be grateful for the laughs I suppose

It was quite a long time ago mate and I was also quite a bit younger. Not wanting to rewrite history- just that time has clouded the memories somewhat.

No worries, I just get sick of it being quoted as some sort of achievement, I think it was about 8 or 9 games before we won a game under him (can't remember the exact number) one of which was a 6-0 reverse v Notts Forest. So if he comes back and that happens again we are royally fucked and we still have to watch his shit football.
