Was he the bloke we all thought was terrible when in fact he was just bad, and we didn’t yet know how terrible a manager could be?😂

He said he was sacked from Stoke City for winning too many games.

Just like at Birmingham, the abject failure of others is making him appear a better manager than he is.
What was his big mistake out of interest?

He said he was sacked from Stoke City for winning too many games. 😮 Rowettball was mind numbingly boring. His out and out war with the supporters coupled with this and an under achievement having spent £50 Million saw him rightfully sacked.

1:16 in....talks about the comments he made about the fans when asked in a presser about why Bojan wasn't playing. Says he realises now what a mistake it was and if he could he'd like to apologise to the fans now

He's shown a lot of humility since he left, if he he'd have shown the same levels whilst in the job the fans may have stayed patient and the story could have been different.....

He did waste £50m but I agree he talked himself out of a job. He was so rude and arrogant and it wasn't just about Bojan. There were others he took aim at as well. Ah well.

I never disliked the bloke. I thought his press conferences showed him as quite an intelligent manager. Certainly never got offended at anything he said (the Bojan obsession amongst elements of the fan base was ridiculous). However the football his side played here was both tedious and ineffective - a fatal combination. The question is would it have developed in to something better and match winning? We will never know because he arrived at a time when expectations were high and tolerance was low. Jones has been fortunate in that by the time he arrived on the scene he was bound to be given more time and all people were looking for the remainder of last season was a glimmer of progress. What has happened subsequently is mind boggling.

Unless I've missed previous interviews where he's shown such humility you have to wonder why now.
The easy assumption and using the mantra 'always follow the money' is he's getting a bit desperate for an appointment.
He comes across very well in the bit that I've watched and the apology to the fans is much appreciated but it's 9 months overdue, he does that the day after his incredulous outburst and he's viewed very differently by a large number of fans imo.
If he'd shown the character that he's showing now whilst he was in the job he might still be in it, the football played was by and large shit but that could've been to steady the ship and it 'might' have improved.

Very easy to be calm and retrospective now he's spent the money he did and thus created the issues for someone else to sort out.
No doubt he'll get another job in the future but I won't forget the complete car crash he made of this job, in tandem with the owners and recruitment staff that has condemned this club to the lower leagues for years.

Get him back shouldn’t have been sacked Now that would be an interesting decision. This MB is so arse-about-tit, in terms of polarised views, I shudder to imagine what the meltdown on here would be.

That would have got him a bit more time here.

Pleased to see he acknowledges his own part in his downfall. If he'd shown any humility and common sense he'd still be in his job now.
