Tony Pulis will not be returning to Stoke City I never thought in a million years he'd be back here, too many bridges burned. When are we sacking our lower league manager and getting Hughton in then?

Would love it to be today Hackett, unfortunately I think they will allow us the grace of being dicked 3-0 at brentford before the penny finally drops.

Has the manager turned a corner? Jesus wept. Only “a bit of a corner”. Spinks really is an awful excuse for a sports reporter. If Jones killed someone it would probably only be “a bit of a murder”.

Now this is an interesting one from the Q&A... Don’t you think Mr Coates should have sold the club when he had the chance, when the Hong Kong consortium came in when we got relegated from the PL?(Sam, Stoke)
Hong Kong consortium?
On the wider point, foreign ownership is a huge gamble, as this club knows, and surely you’d prefer owners who are wealthy, local, accountable and actually support the football club as football fans and not just as investors.
Where has this come from then? News to me. I did hear rumblings of Chinese interest in 16/17 but Coates flat out told them the club was not for sale. Could be made up bollocks but if there is any element of truth to this then that is very interesting.
If this Sam bloke is on the Oatie, can you elaborate? Cheers

2 up top is definitely needed.
I dont really want to see 5 the back though, but if he must, then it has to be 3-5-2.
As many keep repeating, this squad allows for a 4-2-3-1, so can we just play it Natho?
Edit, sorry Chig that wasn't supposed to be a quote of your reply, just to the thread in general.

Call me old fashioned, but I think Q&As work better when people ask questions, rather than just having a moan, which is what most respondents did.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/live-stoke-city-nathan-jones-3357264Rob G: Has he gone yet?Hi Rob. Let’s get this one out of the way first. Things can change very fast – Martin O’Neill left Forest while our colleague over in Nottingham was hosting a Q&A like this… - but we’re not expecting any developments on the Nathan Jones front today. The manager was downbeat but bullish last night. It’s not that it was a match of no consequence because defeat has hauled him even further into the spotlight, but it’s all about the Championship (and a possibly settling ‘best XI’) at the moment. It is obvious to everyone, including Jones, about the importance of the next two matches – back-to-back home games v Forest and Huddersfield – and even they have to be taken one at a time. When you’ve only won three league games out of 28 it’s clear that you’re running on a match-by-match basis, never mind how much you or anyone else would love to look at the long-term picture. Jones and his players are back at Clayton Wood today preparing to take on Forest in front of the TV cameras on Friday night. I should point out that there has been pretty minimal dissent from supporters at games, including the 721 who were at Crawley last night. There have been no major chants or banners like faced by Mark Hughes or Gary Rowett, but empty seats paint a miserable picture. The Stoke board gets a lot of praise for being patient – too patient, by their own admittance, with Hughes – but the majority of fans deserve that tag too. This has been an awful year on the back of three awful years. If that was to snap…

Spinks making a point of a lack of dissent from the stands as a reason he's still in the job?!... That's incredible, staggering in fact.

Whey can't they see with their own eyes they did to do something. They are just asking for a fucking riot now.

When a guy is one result from the sack its already over isnt it? Mostly yes, but not always Alex Ferguson was supposedly 1 match away from the sack when they played Stoke and beat us before he had ever won a trophy. I think Howard Kendall was also 1 game away from the sack at Everton before he took them to 2 titles and an FA Cup. What a great manager he was!

Spinks looking for journalistic opportunities probably but also entirely believable. It's amazing that our owners, despite regular attendance at matches seem to have such a limited understanding of the game and how it works.

Both, in my opinion, were taken by surprise at the ferocity of that abuse.

Especially the use of the word "deserve". What is it that he is suggesting, that there should be mass protests from the fans on Friday? 🤔

I miss those intentionally ambiguous and cover all bases/state the bleeding obvious daveviews posts. Absolutely hilarious. The Derek Acorah of the Oatcake. He'll probably turn up with a ' boardroom are concerned about our current form", "club have discussed other managerial options" or "manager not happy with the players" post or something similarly enlightening soon enough. then it will be 'new manager will be a man who has played football"
