Your team for Brentford?
Can only see Etebo in for Allen? He's just about bought himself another week for me. Any more widespread changes and lose, and he'd be gone Sunday morning. He has to build on this.

Build on what?
Anyway, the whole guessing game of naming a team is just that. Second guessing Nathan is a task in itself. Really, who knows?

Build on what? Anyway, the whole guessing game of naming a team is just that. Second guessing Nathan is a task in itself. Really, who knows? Well that was a much better performance, fans stayed with team, Badou looked superb, easy to bring in Etebo and not upset the golden one, Butland looked much better, created a few good chances even with 10. Quite alot I think. We can't change again to try find something better, may make us worse and we'll back to square 1. Result was bad performance wasn't. Rather than wholesale changes, focus on stopping crosses.

Butland
Carter-Vickers Collins Martins-Indi
Woods
Smith Etebo Badou Clucas
Vokes Campbell
Similar set up to Leeds where we looked solid and a threat on the break......

It's clear he can't be arsed with his diamond anymore at the moment, so
Butland
Smith - Collins - BMI - McClean
N'Diaye - Etebo
Ince - Powell - Clucas
Gregory
Or
Butland
Smith - Collins - BMI - McClean
Ince - N'Diaye - Etebo - Clucas
Gregory - Hogan
I've dropped my usual Edwards for Smith. Not a fantastic game on Saturday. Both RB's not up to snuff this season so far. In a 442 Gregory and Hogan need to be up top. Gregory played well on Saturday.
No Allen is such a blessing for the midfield.

I would try this 433 Butland Smith Batth Indi Clucas Woods Etebo Ndiaye Ince Gregory McClean 4-3-3 didn’t work under Lambert, didn’t work under Rowett and didn’t work at Brum He can’t play the diamond because when we tried get we got mullered there last season. Butland Smith Collins Batth Indi McClean Etebo Ndiaye Clucas Hogan Gregory

Vokes and Campbell looked really dangerous as a pair and Gregory for all his hard work doesn't look like he has a goal in him. We're at the straw clutching stage.....

It was weird. I don't know if he changed the formation but it was very strange from where I sitting. We saw it a lot with Afobe last year - always on the wing. Something isn't quite right there. When he played in a normal front two at Leeds he was great but why do our strikers always end up as pseudo wingers. Not so much on the left because McClean's more often than not there but on the right they are dragged out constantly and then there's no-one in the middle.

Federici Smith Lindsay Batth BMI McClean Cousins NDiaye Clucas Etebo Gregory I think Ward will play ahead of McClean after being given a run out tonight with the U23's Ward is a better defender than McClean but would he offer much going forward in a back 5? McClean has had a decent season so far in terms of getting forward and having a back 3 behind him compensates for his defensive weaknesses. If Ward plays I would have thought he would play in a back four with 2 up top. I'm all for squad rotation to keep things fresh - but we desperately need a starting 11 to click, get that first win, keep it steady for a few games - and then freshen it up. Thing is I don't think any of us know what that 11 will be. I don't.

So everyone keeps moaning about making changes every game yet the majority have said 4+ changes. So I'm guessing people want to see loads of changes? I'd keep the same team but Etebo to replace Allen which has to happen. One enforced change try get some momentum going? I'd possibly put Collins in at the back for maybe CCV but I'd happily stick with same 10, see what happens.

The problem is jones said he wanted two players for each position. Well in some positions we haven’t got bloody one.
Saturday has to be... Butland
Edwards Ba’ath indi Ward
Ince Ndiaye clucas Maclean
Gregory Campbell
If Ward is fit then he has to start by default as we haven’t got a left back. And Maclean has to play at left wing as we have no other option. Ince keeps his place by default as well as we don’t have another right winger.
Hopefully that side can grind out a 0-0

Unfortunately can predict nothing but brentford win by a big margin. Quality team who play as a team.
Good thing is it might bring NJ closer to being put out of his misery

I'd possibly put Collins in at the back for maybe CCV but I'd happily stick with same 10, see what happens. 1 change is inevitable - and I agree Etebo should play for Allen. Collins for CCV isn't a bad choice - but CCV didn't have a bad game so that's a change that strictly isn't required. Edwards - not for the first time this time this season - had a mare on Saturday and really should be dropped on the basis of form. Stability is good - but that shouldn't give anyone a free ride. The goalkeeping situation is not resolved for me. Butland has been woeful and although he didn't do much wrong on Saturday there is a reasonable argument that he and the team would benefit from him being on the bench to properly get his act together, Stability is good - but when you've got players out of form and haven't established an 11 that click some change is inevitable. I think we could get away with just 2 changes oat the weekend but those two would be Etebo for Allen and Smith for Edwards. There are good reasons to make about 4 changes but if stability is the priority it should be those two.
