Based on the average points total of the team finishing above the relegation zone over last 5 years in the Championship we need another 46 points from 39 games to be sure of staying up.

It would be interesting to know if any team has ever stayed up from gaining just 1 or less points from their first 7 games in this Division?

That has actually put my mind at ease to some extent. It would be quite a stunt not to manage 1.12 points a game for the rest of the season with the players at our disposal. I'm not saying it can't be done but the staff will have to keep working relentlessly at it in order to pull it off.

I'm not saying it can't be done but the staff will have to keep working relentlessly at it in order to pull it off. 1.12 pts and we would probably be relegated. We probably need 1.20pts per game now. but yes, it should be doable, you would think. On this calculation, another way of looking at it is, if we achieved the form of the whole of last season in the next 39 games we would just about survive. i.e. we will get 47 points, or rather, we would survive most seasons (I think it was either 2015/16 or 2016/17 where a team was relegated with 51 points) But we cannot now afford to perform even fractionally below that level. That means we have to now achieve the form of a team that would normally (on average) finish 16th in a season just to finish 21st and escape relegation by the skin of our teeth. Significant improvement is required! For Play-off were are looking at over 2pts a game on average.

I honestly never thought we’d see League one again. The championship yes, I knew the Prem wouldn’t last forever but league 1 never.
The fact we now find ourselves in the position where historically nobody survives after a start like ours means heads should roll, starting at the very top.

Can not see where the next win will come from under Jones, every game he stays in charge is a step closer to relegation.Every stat you look at stinks of relegation, you can't put a positive spin on anything he is doing. The board hopefully are already lining up a replacement, don't know who but to let this carry on is will result in only one thing, league 1.

If Jones stays then it's clear Coates doesn't care anymore.
How could any owner with an ounce of ambition allow this to continue?

We have totally the wrong type of player for the situation we now find ourselves in. Ince, Lindsay, Batth, CCV no heart when things go against them. Edwards, Smith, just not good enough. Etebo , Powell have talent but are either injury prone or inconsistent.Allen and McLean work hard, run all day but have the ability and thought process of a rabid guinea pig. Gregory, an SJW clone (which is good) but without remotely looking like he knows where the goals are. N’diyae played well yesterday but is he committed to the cause? Hogan and Cousins are either one season wonders or players who caught the Manager’s eye in the dim and distant past. Before the start of the season in our predictions thread, I said that we would either be right up there or it would be a clusterf*** of a season. I’m more or less convinced that it will now be the latter, and next years itinerary features trips to Fleetwood, Doncaster etc.

Well, going from Jones's record to date, the longer we keep him in charge, the quicker our chances diminish.
It's crazy that, seven games in, we're looking at relegation as a realistic possibility - but the way we're going, it is.

What are the chances of us ‘doing a derby’? Also what’s the lowest points tally in a championship season? 🤔

I'm fairly resigned to this shit now.
