What exactly do people expect him to say, it's all gone terribly wrong and doesn't appear to be working out so we've told him he need to win the next four. I'm pretty sure Nathan knows exactly where he stands and what is expected out of the next five games, as soon as that is not achievable then we'll find out exactly what the board have been thinking. It's the old fashioned vote of confidence, turn it round all else. Absolutely spot on.... it’s ridiculous to think he can say anything else in public. I really cant understand why people don’t see that! I agree he will be sacked if he doesn’t turn it around in a few games time and he can’t come out and say that!

I get the I am backing him thing until they fire him. However to come Out with stuff like we do our homework and snippets like that does not help the theory he is out of touch

FFS I wish Jones would shut his mouth also reading his latest offering🤔 Jones went on to explain: "What's happened is: when we haven't scored, then we've conceded. And then when we have scored, we've conceded even more." the guy is a genius!...who would have thought it?

However to come Out with stuff like we do our homework and snippets like that does not help the theory he is out of touch True - but, let's face it, I wouldn't envy anyone who had the task to go on Radio Stoke and do a 15-minute interview defending Jones' tenure to this point. You'd very quickly have to resort to absolute nonsense, wouldn't you? But once you've made the call you're going o back your man publicly, you've just got to roll with it and in that 15 minutes, there are going to be certain quotes that don't exactly sound convincing.

If he reckons we've played better than the results show, then he needs to go and watch QPR, Preston, Leeds and Birmingham. Is he blind? We heard exactly the same line under Hughes, Lambert and Rowett when things were going pear shaped. Unfortunately the guy watches games through rose-tinted glasses. We have been appallingly bad in 3 of those games. Worrying!!! What should we expect?...well no, I dont expect him to hang the manager out to dry in public, but to say we've played well in these games is a massive distortion of the truth that everyone can see and gives the impression that they dont know what they are doing. If their judgements of football games can be so bad, then so can their judgement of managers.

1pt.in 6 games, keep that up, we could get 8pts.this season,I can see why he does'nt know what all the fuss is about.
You could say he's lost the plot, but you need a plot in the first place to lose it.😶

He’d have been better off just declining to do that interview. It’s “I don’t know what the fuss is about” part two. Yes indeed mate. Starting to wonder whether the club can manage to say or do anything these days that doesn't feel like a kick in the nuts?

We are not ruthless on the pitch or off it. We seem to be plodding on regardless, hoping things will turn out fine. The Coates family need to sort their shit out,we need them, because the thought of someone else buying this this club and sending us down the Bolton route fills me with dread.

He was interviewed to become Staffordshire Police Commissioner but didn't get the job because he said he didn't know what the fuzz was about.

And let's not forget we'd supposedly informally offered the job to David Moyes, in the days leading up to our unexpected 1-0 win at Watford at the end of October 2017, which bizarrely changed things.
And this was 6 weeks before "I don't know what all the fuss is about"
Suppose it just goes to show public support has got to be 100% until it's 0%, regardless of how far away from bringing out the axe we are in reality.

Listening again Coates sounded like a man who was happy to back his man, but was confident that he had a suitable replacement lined up should results not improve. I am sure Jones was left with no uncertainty during the meeting that unless results improve dramatically he can expect the trap door to open!!

I wonder if this person, who wanted to help with Lamberts successor, actually helped with appointing Lambert? Anyway he, the football man, said Rowett was a good appointment! With my degree in hindsight appointing Rowett was a better appointment that taking the advice, of who to appoint, from a mate down the pub!

I honestly think Rowett fell out with the system and did a mourinho. He wanted the sack, it was worth plenty of money. Rowett really wasn't bad at all, the system however was shit. Statistics pretty much back that up. The players he signed are still our current best players, which really is a statement isn't it? Even mcclean is our best left back, and I'd argue our best LM (as we don't have one)

Just listened.
I'd bin that new manager poll - for now anyway.
And not sure even a poor result on Sat'dee will trigger anything.
'Hasty" he is most certainly is not.
In the words of LG, "as you were".
For now.
& actually Peter, if you have asked me before you appointed him, I would have said I don't like GR one bit. Nothing concrete / tangible (much in the same way Trouserdog made me chorlte when he said Nigel Atkins had "something a bit creepy" about him - or similar - I thought Rowett had "smarmy" about him & just never thought it would work).

I get the I am backing him thing until they fire him. However to come Out with stuff like we do our homework and snippets like that does not help the theory he is out of touch Oh C'mon SS! Do you really think they don't do their homework? Hundreds and hundreds of managers and players are "scouted", "courted", "interviewed" and hired only to turn out to be massive flops. Could our current batch of flops have been prevented .... apart from Berahino and possibly Lambert, I don't recall many arguing against the recruitment of any of our flop players or Rowett or Jones. Instead of going ballistic about everything that comes from the club, can't we try to "support" them as they try navigate through this mess? What would be the ultimate objective of hounding Coates out of the club? I think most fans would be very unhappy with the future regime if that happened!

Firstly, how has NJ been rewarded? The implication is, "we're giving him more time, but he better turn it around". That's a reward??? Secondly, are you saying the owners are happy to lose money in one company but not the other? Money is money, regardless of where it's lost, it leaves a hole in your pocket exactly the same size!

When was the interview done then because it's almost the middle of september ! This week 😂 “It’s only August, well its September but it’s really August” were the words I think what he means is that we're building on from the last game in August and ignoring the two week international break. In a manner of saying that makes some sense.

You know exactly what he meant. But hey! We're all perfect, let's harangue someone who has done more for Stoke than any one of us, because of a sloppy worded statement. Who hasn't said something like "On Wednesday we'll...." when it's already Wednesday?

That interview pretty much gaurentees he’s got 4 games bear minimum. Coates is offering him a lot more than 4 games. Not 40 maybe, but there's no definite figure or conditions attached to his statement.

I understand the majority of people's frustrations, but there are those, it seems, who unfortunately thrive on pulling apart every statement or comment that comes out of the club whilst dispelling any good faith and trust they built up during the premier league years. The 4 years spiral is worrying, and there is loads we can discuss and debate. However let's get some balance back.

I wonder if Coates still believes in his pre-season quote that “promotion is the aim this season” 😖 If we win the next 40 or even just 30 out of 40 we will. Or win 20 out of 40 and draw the other 20. It's not very likely the way it looks, but strange things can happen.
