Lambert steadied the ship should we have kept him ?, Rowett and Jones to a larger extent have been totally disastrous appointments as have the majority of their signings, I don't recall the fans having a say in any of these decisions .
Lambert didn't steady the ship - if anything he made us worse and it was the right decision to let him go. The fans hounded out Hughes who had more chance of keeping us than Lambert ever did.
We got relegated with an increasingly dysfunctional bunch of ex-Prem players. After a dodgy start Rowett steadied the ship and got us moving up the league. After a couple of poor results he was hounded out of the club by the fans and was replaced by Jones who - in a mirror image to the previous season - made us worse. Had we stuck with Rowett we would have done far better last season. As soon as we sacked him any remaining chance of a play off place went out of the window. By successfully hounding Rowett out of the club the fans who hounded him out made us worse. And his crime? Pointing out that we have some dickhead fans. Which is clearly true.
The fans hounded Afobe out the club by booing him at the QPR game and have lost us a potential 20 goal striker. Which will make us worse. Well done.
The same fans are now hounding out Jones claiming they have the best interests of the club at heart and believe yet another change of manager mid season will solve all the problems - despite the fact that doing just that has made us worse two seasons on the trot. To make matters even more absurd the fans who hounded out the previous managers and a potentially very effective striker are now claiming that it is everybody else's fault and that the fans are innocent victims in the whole debacle - despite being successful in their campaigns to hound out 2 managers and at least one player which has seen us plummet down the leagues.
Yes mistakes have been made by the owners, successive managers and players. But the fans have played their part in this as well and to say otherwise is hypocritical bullshit of the highest order.
As per my original post - we are not at Newcastle fans levels of toxic negativity - yet. But if more fans get on to your bandwagon of incessant negative bile we will - and the only way is down.
Happy clappers of the world unite - your club needs you. What it doesn't need is yet more "innocent fans" jumping on the toxicity bandwagon that will drive the club to oblivion - proclaiming their innocence and blaming everybody else along the way. It's like watching a baby with a blow torch smiling innocently at the havoc it is causing.
If you want to be a toxic, negative, goat slaying dickhead stand up and be proud. The nauseating thing is not actually taking any responsibility for the consequences of your actions. It's truly pathetic.
