Hard fact: Lungs are made for clean air.
So please if you can, avoid sucking anything else of any kind down to them. Even though I know how hard it can be.

Research should prioritize the effects on people who don't vape but get caught up in the enormous clouds they emit. The health of those that choose to vape should be a distant secondary concern.

In QLD you have to go to designated smoking areas to vape.

A big problem seems to be people using them as a replacement for cigarettes rather than using the to quit smoking.
Down at our youngen's high school you see quite a few kids using them. You can guarantee many of their parents probably get them for them too because they think they are harmless, or even to stop them smoking cigarettes.

The aim with the e-cigs is to use 3-5 a day, not 20 of them if you used to smoke a package. The amount of nicotine will even be larger (depending of type) than with ordinary cigs, leading to higher blood pressure and cardiovascular system collapses. Some people also seem to inhale more intensively with e-cigs than w ord. cigs, possibly because they believe they are totally harmless. But keep in mind it's much easier to get different kind of bacteria into the lungs than some believe. That's why the info on inhalators of any kind for asthma always is so extended. So pls clean the tube thoroughly each day, after and before each one of the 3-5 e-cigs during the 24 hours.

I don't know if they have new mouthpieces on the replacement cartridges.

My brother tried e-cigs but got dizzy. Stopped using them. Just like my father he've had periods of 5-6 months without any nicotine whatsoever (just like my father had but died of double heart attacks). Strange thing is: all personnel said, if you can stop for 5-6 months you'll have NO need for it anymore! But just like my dad he says the need just grew and grew all that time. So I really don't know what NEED they're talkin' about.

Been in Hospital today, and a nurse I was chatting to said an increasing number of pneumonia cases attributed to vaping. Not surprised, since some amount of bacteria stays inside of the tube / mouthpiece. People often only cleans the outside since it's easier.

I've vaped for many many years now and have been fairly clued up on it for a good while. My suspicion is that there's a lot of cheap and nasty unregulated juice / vaping equipment on the market, and that this is what's causing these issues. That's not to say that vaping with good quality equipment is totally safe, but I'm still convinced that, compared to smoking, vaping is going to be single digits % as harmful.
However, I have to admit that all these articles have put the fear of god into me so I've already begun the process of lowering my nicotine % with the intention of quitting totally in early 2020.
I should also re-iterate what's been said that, if anything, I'm potentially more addicted to nicotine as a vaper than I was as a smoker just because of chain vaping. I'll vape relentlessly when I'm sat at my desk etc. That's clearly not an option with smoking.

The most recent trend is school kids vaping, they obviously think it make them look cool in the same way as some of us did with cigarettes back in the day.
But whereas as a 14 year old I used to have the odd random fag once in a blue moon, these kids are constantly sucking these things which is worrying with recent studies coming out.....

Vaping, like smoking, is a shit thing to do. Your life will be better physically and financially. There is no down side. (Speaking as an ex-smoker)

(Speaking as an ex-smoker) To be frank, cold turkey isn't really an option for me personally. I do a highly stressful, performance based job. Quitting cold turkey would 100% cost me a lot of money. It's going to have to be a gradual process but I've already reduced the % of nicotine in my juice (I mix it myself) and will continue to do so for the rest of the year.

Maybe the self-adhesive round nicotine dots to put on the cheek, neck or elsewhere is a better option.

They have hypnotherapy clinics where I live. I would hope my brother visited one. They have some (part of?) money back guarantee, even if it costs like £150 per session here.

Prices very wildly from what I've seen. I nearly tried one in Ely that was £250 and that was around 4/5 years ago, free repeat session but no money back. What really put me off to be honest, apart from the cost, was the 'work' I was supposed to do before the appointment. If I could do that 'work' I'd have pretty much stopped smoking already anyway! My ex managed to quit using the Paul McKenna hypnotherapy 'tape' - played it on her phone through headphones before/whilst going to sleep.

Gradually reducing the amount smoked until the week before the appointment, by the day of the appointment I wasn't to smoke at all, if I could've done that I wouldn't have needed the hypnosis!

Vaping's not been around anywhere near long enough to infer either the benefits of the costs, my suspicion is that they should serve as an intermediate between those who smoke and those fully quitting. I think they have a good window/niche in this area. Less certain about it "being completely safe".

Vaping and compulsive betting will be absolutely endemic across the next few generations I think. One of my younger cousins was recently caught betting after stealing his Dad's card/account. I believe more kids gamble than smoke/drink these days between the ages of 11-16.
