I can see Verlinden and Collins going permanently in January along with Badou. Read somewhere that Collins is still on ManU radar.

Adobe is a good player. Hoofing the ball over his head on a good day, to possibly one attempt a game, Ronaldo would bloody struggle.

Verlindern is only on loan til January by his own request. We may have a new manager by then. Otherwise if he doesn't fit the team what is the point of keeping him as he seems not to be willing to wait for his chance - his perogative but you can't change your team just to fit around one player or just pick a player because he threatens to leave or the whole squad would be doing it.
I'm pretty sure the Collins thing was just a continuation from the summer. The original article was about Solskjaer's determination to recruit home grown players and mentioned how they were monitoring Collins. At least we recently gave him a 5 year contract so they will have to pay. I can't imagine there is any way he'll go in January and even if we were in the Premier League and he was playing every week once Man Utd came for him he'd go. Playing every week for Swansea didn't stop Daniel James leaving for them.

Massive mistake letting him out on loan. Should be starting for us along with Campbell every week. Thibo and his agent demanded first team action or to be loaned out. Jones wouldn't offer him any, so Thibo left. Could see him demanding to be sold if he doesn't play for us when he returns. He's not only far too good for League 1, he's far too good for the Championship.

We have a team devoid of pace, so either Jones has to change his philosophy or a new manager will bring his own style which will hopefully mean we can bring back Verlinden in January and get him on the bench at least. Some of the comments from the Bolton fans the other night were pretty impressive, League 1 or not (it's not as if we're that far away from that level).

As with most strikers, if you play to his strengths he can be effective. To call someone with the first touch and junping ability of an elephant 'a good player' is misleading.

I reckon you could put the donkeys out, off Blackpool beach and they'd do better than our normal bunch of losers known as the 1st choice eleven *

I can see Verlinden and Collins going permanently in January along with Badou. Read somewhere that Collins is still on ManU radar. I doubt it given Collins just sign a new long term deal.

If the manager continues to select him as captain, then drops him for the next many games, do you seriously think Collins' agent won't find a club that will be willing to spend on him, such a club down the road that starts with M?

I think that letting Verlinden go out on loan, when we are so desperately short of flair players who can change a game, is very much on a par with letting Robert Huth go for a very small fee. Hughes thought he was surplus to requirements and he went on to win a Premier League title with Leicester.

We'd just say no unless its stupid money, he'd have no say until we accepted an offer. For him to get a run of games he needs to improve, I can understand why he was dropped tbh, he's shown he could have a good future in glimpses but he still has masses to learn.

Verlinden isn't thought of as surplus though in the same way, given his age its better he gets regular games, if that wasn't going to happen here then it would be moronic to not send him out on loan.

He's not going to improve playing for the under 23's. I've seen enough of Collins to see he's no worse than the other centre halves we have and is in all likelyhood only going to get better.Plus he's a leader on the pitch, something we're missing badly.I'd have him as 1st nameon the team sheet and make him captain. Verlinden was MoTM by all accounts last night,Bolton fans are raving about him, even when Oxford put 2 men on him in the 2nd half.

I have to say, I've spoken to a few celtic fans this morning already, all saying that Bauer is looking good for them.
Its a bizarre situation, us playing CCV at right back, meanwhile we have a right back we spent a lot of money on playing well in the Europa league.
I suppose that's Stoke City for you

When he wasn't playing at Stoke he was a great player too I read a quote this last week by the Celtic manager saying that he rates Bauer highly and that Bauer has been unlucky that his competition at right back has played so well. A better right back than CCV maybe?

Well I'm sitting with 3 season ticket holders right now. They reckon he's improving and had a good game last night, at the end of the day at a much higher level than what we are playing at.
Meanwhile we trundle on with Carter-Vickers plodding about at right back.

Can't imagine St Mirren giving the Championship sleepless nights.
