What are you basing him being the wrong choice on? He'd get the same short shrift from our beloved overpaid divas that they've given two other managers that they deemed unworthy of managing them. Anyway, I'm sure he's just lapping up the media attention of being linked to our sorry ar$es to improve his stock. Don't they all? Be prepared for more public humiliation I'd say. Still, I'd rather we stuck with Rory, Kev and Andy than grasp at the next desperate wannabe. I don't mean Neil there , I mean whoever'd be willing once our short/long list had turned us down! 12 of those divas Jones signed

I thought Neil turned down West Brom to stay at Preston? If so I’m really struggling to see why he would choose to leave them now when he’s on the cusp of doing fantastic things with Preston More money? Bigger Wage Structure? Arguable bigger club recently in the Premier League and despite everything still set up for a return? Nothing against PNE they're a great club, but they are limited in many aspects for a manager. Unless he is pushing them for more financial support?

Well if we pull this off it’s going to cost us a packet so hopefully that means all the FFP scaremongering is bollox

In the unlikely event that he were to leave a club riding high in the Championship for the shit show that is Stoke, I'd still find it rather underwhelming myself.

Surely there won’t be the same debacle as when Hughes was sacked. I’m relevantly confident that they have their man and are holding back on announcing the appointment as matter of courtesy to NJ. Hopefully lessons have been learned.....time will tell. PS. I’m disappointed that it all went tits up for NJ, however we’re in a results based business so there can’t be any complaints from his perspective. Not wishing to be a spelling Nazi but I think you meant 'relatively' not 'relevantly'? H I thank you for your correction. The sentiments are the same

He's a very good manager but:
a) what can we offer that West Brazil couldn't?
b) does he have a big enough reputation to buck our players' collective ideas up?

He could of had that at West Brom? He’s building something special at PNE, hes on the verge of doing wonders with a limited budget as you say so for me I’d have to see if I can pull off a miracle and get them up. They’ve always had a fan base or around 14 thousand like ourselves, used to be fantastic followers as well. If I was him I’d stay where I was without question

Rowett and Jones were good upcoming managers that were let down big time by them wasters. This calls for an experienced head quickly

It would constitute a bit of a coup if we get Neil. I'd be over the moon. If 'Just what the doctor ordered' was a picture it would be... I wouldn't want to get in a scrap with the stony faced fucker either If he came here I think you would have to question if he was wired up properly.

This is not a time to take a chance on a upcoming manager as Neil obviously is,this is a Pulis type job.No evidence of Neal in this situation and being a success.Pulis has done it at this club.As fans on this board we all have opinions,it's the the board of Stoke City who make the choice though. We all have good intentions and reasons for backing our man...but the Pulis backers are right this time. Nah. Did you not see his West Brom record before being sacked. Hardly saving them was he ? Of course he saved them. They were in dire trouble when he took over and destined to be relegated.

And he was sacked because he then would have relegated them, they were fucking rotten. He is corrupt and tactically he is being left far behind which is evidenced in his Boro stint.

He's a very good manager but: a) what can we offer that West Brazil couldn't? b) does he have a big enough reputation to buck our players' collective ideas up? I can answer a) Bigger budget but, strangely, much lower expectation. Owners who will be desperate not to sack him. Indeed, he would need to be bad on an epic scale to get sacked. A steeper story arc, and signs of success eg a few wins and he'll get hero worshipped here, and get much more publicity for it. And there's no doubt he will think he can turn things around quickly here. And if her does get us in the premier league, he'd get a bigger budget again here than he would at west brom.

PNE fans not taking rumour well... The one good thing to come of our appointments is how much we piss off fanbases, remember Luton fans all saying Jones would never leave for a basket case
