I was actually critical of this dual job situation, but now since Talksport are slating it, and Jim White is saying what a great point it is, I'll happily retract all statements made about the situation.
Crack on Mick.

Talksport just trying to get a reaction so people listen and call in. It's a terrible station I'd rather listen to radio static. Think I'd prefer radio static actually. There are only so many times one person can hear Nige say 'Bruno NDiaye'. Etobo. Fucking Etobo. How can any human being see a name written down dozens of times over many months, and hear the guy next to them consistently pronounce it as Etebo, and continue to mispronounce it? It’s staggering.

Well Peter Coates was talking all things Michael O’Neill on Sport at 6 on Radio Stoke tonight. And when asked about him continuing as NI manager he said “ Well its only for another week or so and most of our players are away anyway.”
So that suggests to me there’s no plans or intentions of him managing them for a potential play off next year.

They aren't letting young Jonti anywhere near any media after his last little gaff at the "Meet The Fans" night. Fuck me what a total mess that was.....

Pray tell what was this gaff? Mmm. You just want to see it again don't you? Is it 50 minutes that becomes the gaff? I'm not sure now.

They’ve been wring before , I’m still hearing warning bells . 1 Amszed how fast the game was Saturday from O’Neil himself 2 Stoke went the extra mile ie we were desperate enough to let him keep his current job and pay him 50% more than we are paying hughes at the beginning of his tenure . not knocking O’Neil just saying one result doesn’t offset that’s it’s a huge risk abs he’s totally unproven in this or Any English league Translation for those who do not speak BenjaminBiscuitese: They’ve been wrong before , I’m still hearing warning bells ..... He's not Tony Pulis, we're doomed to consecutive relegations. If you did some research you’d know I’m no Pulis lover , but I agree I wouldn’t be ruling out relegation next May for sure and if That happened. O’Neil would be the patsy for Scholes and the process and I wouldn’t rule anything out

www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p07twcxsAnother discussion on the MON job share on BBC NI. From about 16:00 in. Basically they think it's unworkable and he should walk away now with his head held high when the NI job is at its most attractive to a successor. Randomly throws in a Blackpool midfielder as a possible target here. O'Neill has brought Northern Ireland head scout Andy Cousins to Stoke and Blackpool's Jordan Thompson could be on his radar."We're all pleased for him, I think everyone in Northern Ireland is - what he's done for us as players, a team, a country, it's fantastic.
"That move to club level in England is probably something he has always had in the back of his mind"
"We've been fortunate to have Michael for such a long time.
"Michael showed us the way, that if we concentrate on all those little things it can really make a big difference to us, and that's something that we'll definitely be trying to carry on."
"When the right opportunity came we all knew that it was one he couldn't turn down."
"I think he is staying for the rest of the campaign"
"He's here for the two games and then for a play-off, I think he's going to be there to the end.
"As far as I'm aware, I could be totally wrong, Michael is going to be in charge for the rest of the campaign.
"It's as simple as that, I don't think there are any sort of complications to it.
"Say we don't qualify, or we do qualify and he takes us there, once the tournament's over that will be the time he'll step aside.

He can just carry on doing both jobs indefinitely then? Why not? I think it has been done before although I can't remember any details. Running a team like NI doesn't take a lot of time I'd say. It's being done at present by Lars Olsen (Euro winner 1992 for Denmark) for Faroe Islands and Esbjerg.

Are the Pharo Islands, those islands up north of Scotland which were settled by Egyptians many years ago?

Happy to accommodate O'Neill's situation.
We are lucky to have him in our predicament.
In O'Neill we trust.

There really isnt anyone with a bad word about o'Neil is there?
I loved his understated entrance and departure from the oakwell pitch.
I said early doors that Jones was a modern day Alan ball. Let's hope we've replaced him with a modern day Lou macari.

He has a certain aura about him that makes you feel assured, hard to explain but the way he speaks, acts and conducts himself reminds me of Alex Ferguson.

The press are trying to make a drama out of something that isn’t a drama and quite a few fans are buying into the narrative. Quite astonished actually by the fuss in the media.
