Is this thread meant to refer to speculation about our current manager, or speculation about possible future managers? Just asking like...

Certainly since Swansea the self promotion seems to have gone up a notch for sure. I think the board have to be careful here, there's a lot of changes at clubs at the moment & if they stick and give him a few more games and we regress then the pool of managers we are fishing in may shrink even further & we be in a Lambert type situation again.

Yeah bloody typo police, it could have been ebb, elk, eel, ilk, oik - they all mean much of a muchness don't they? In fact why are we bothering with meanings of words at all? Surely just a random bunch of letters would do the same job ffs.

Well you've taught me a new word, never encountered 'shitflicking' before, so thanks for that, I don't anticipate using it much but nonetheless it's good to learn. Speaking of which, did you manage to learn if TP was approached for the Reading job? (I did ask in my original response but for some reason you ignored it) I mean you don't have to be Poch, Mourinho or someone of that tidal effect to get that gig surely?

Has anyone criticising Jones for getting carried away read or listened to any full interviews? The Sentinel one above ends with "We can’t get carried away because it’s one win – but it was a wonderful win." He even admits he looks like a maniac at times. Don't mind a managerial maniac in charge mate - more in the Klopp than Pearson mould though? Jones is coming across like a sort of 'mad snowflake' at the moment.

( Not Ignored Just couldn't Be Arsed To Answer You ) - ( I didn't realise we were in a clasroom ). No surely not but obviously bit better thought of than TP as you said,,, All be it from a certain TP hater who apparently is running thin on shit to flick at the bloke .....

The 3 teams directly above us have all now sacked their managers🤔Nathan is indeed very fortunate to still be employed by Stoke City when you look at these clubs

Good job "lessons have been learned" by the Board following our last relegation season or we might be right up sh*t creek now.

There seem to be a lot of posters on here on Jones back because he is in a jubilant mood after the victory.
In his defence, Firstly he must be feeling enormous relief, staring the sack in the face with lots of people predicting a landslide win for top of the table Swansea.
There have been numerous times this season Stoke have been the better side in matches, only to contrive to lose or draw by hitting the woodwork, missing sitters, or crass defensive errors, factors that are really out of the manager's control bar not picking the player. Jones is bound to feel elated at all his hard work coming together to finally give us a win.
The guy is clearly very passionate and wears his heart on his sleeve. He is desperate to succeed for Stoke and us not just himself. He has taken all the blame on his shoulders to the point of accepting he is lucky to be in a job.
Naturally there are those waiting for him to fail so they can be proved right. Personally I have always wanted to win every match and still do. It still has not occurred to some that the club has not sacked him because no one else wants the job. Some are suggesting we go for an unproven manager, which after Rowett and Jones seems barking mad to me. Some want to revert to yesterday's men who are still licking their wounds after their last sacking.
Jones is elated because 1 minute into Saturday's game he was a goner, and the players have thrown him a life line. He is still in deep water and could yet drown without trace, but I hope we get behind him against Fulham and deliver a resounding victory. Maybe he will do cartwheels on the pitch, but so what.

It is Pulis Physics, which you introduce that becomes problematic.

All very tongue in cheek but WTF? What is wrong with particle physics and quantum physics? I don't know that there's anything wrong with them, mainly because I don't understand them. I was simply using it as an example to show how off the wall conversations can become, they making an appearance in a thread about gypsy curses. I'm assuming Romany folk lore doesn't have any connection with these branches of physics?

Good post. I think the statistics factor has also helped him keep his job, they must analyse that sort of stuff obsessively, or have someone that does. The signs according to those colourful charts that someone has put on here look good. Having said that if he starts with Ince and JM again unless he's forced to he'll deserve everything that comes his way for me.

Fair play, mate. You’ve rumbled me there. No Nobel Prizes for the physics of 4-4-1-1.
