Went to pick the wife up at terminal 2 at Manchester. Follow the signs to pick up and then park up. 1 hour and 13 minutes later we get to the parking payment machine-£10.
Daylight robbery.

It used to be cheaper to park in the underground car park under Place Vendôme in the most exclusive part of Paris than by the Roebuck centre dine Castle. There were cars worth a fortune in there, even a classic 60's Merc SL that had been abandoned Pennant style. Granted, there isn't a Boots or Argos on Place Vendôme but you get my drift.
The way you get ripped off for parking in Britain is unfair. All you want is to park your car.

Manchester Airport is nothing short of a disgrace. Daylight ROBBERS. I can not understand how they are allowed to get away with it.
Unfortunately I use quite frequently.

Have to pay for a thirty second drop off! on return my lift waits outside somewhere, I text or call when I am in the car park, he zooms in ten mins later and straight out. £4.00 Birmingham has an excellent drop off pick up area . The above procedure would cost nothing.

When I am travelling alone I usually get a pal to pick me up at the BP station on site. Only a 2 or 3 minute walk.

Pretty happy at that price actually.

My local airport is Wick John O'Groats. I last used it a few months ago and I was able to park my car and leave it for a week completely free of charge. Also, I was able to park about 20 metres from the only check in desk at the airport. One disadvantage that we have is that there are only 3 flights in and out a day - one to Edinburgh and two to Aberdeen. Also the airport is closed on Saturdays.
How strange it is that you have to pay to park at airports in England !
p.s. Parking is also free in the town centres and supermarkets in our local towns of Thurso and Wick.

4 EUR for 30 mins at Brussels airport, which is basically the minimum time it takes to park up, pickup and get out.
I often wonder if airport car parks bring in more revenue than the flights.

I recently flew into and out of Inverness. What a refreshing difference.

I recently paid £101.73 (how did they calculate this ?) for 15 days at Manchester T2 multi storey for mid September. I wasn't too impressed but I suppose it's a lot more convenient than all these far flung car parks dotted all over the area which aren't really that much cheaper. It's just a big rip-off really isn't it.

I was so wasted I probably would have had brewers droop in any case.

It's a bloody long way and you still get queues at passport control when you eventually get there. We're flying out on 11th September for 2 weeks so we've got it to look forward to again after our holiday !
