Think I made a thread on this last year but I can't find it and can't be arsed to trawl through again so Renewal is in September, need to find a company to go with. Was with Diamond but they put the premium by just over £2000 so I told them very politely to fuck off. 2 Accidents, 1 fault 1 no fault, cheapest quote comes in with 1st Central, £1670 gets me absolutely everything, Breakdown, Courtesy, Motor Legal and Personal Accident cover. Still more than I'm paying now due to the accidents but it's a decent price considering my age (23), the car I'm in (still in the Paceman JCW) and driving for just about 2.5 years. Direct Line gave me a similar quote. Any recommendations? Must be some hidden gems away from these bloomin comparison sites.

You didn't take my advice many months ago to get a 15 year old Fiesta instead of keeping an expensive hot hatch.
What exactly are you expecting? You are high risk. Bloody well stop moaning and cough up.

Bloody well stop moaning and cough up. I know it's going to be expensive. But I have to at least shop around and find the absolute best quote I can get, and so far 1st Central look the best. Wise gave a £900 one with black box, I would do it but I've hard bad stories about their overall service.

Greenlight.
Using them for my S15 next year, they did my mates ST for £1500 and he’s got three points and only had a licence for about 5 minutes.
They’re geared more towards tuned cars, so they’ll be familiar with yours and therefore won’t be derisory and judgemental like the main panel of insurers.

Even a no fault accident will bump premiums up because you are higher risk. My sister had her nearside wing mirror ripped off her 1999 VW Golf by vandals in Bradwell. The insurance company said that the car was a right off because of the cost of replacing the mirror and cosmetic body work damage repair which came to £478 + vat. She declined the offer and withdrew her claim and got it repaired up Talke for £110. When she came to renew the insurance they had bumped her premiums up by over 30% and when she queried this she was told she was a higher risk because of the vandal damage even though she didn’t claim.

Dunno about that had my car wrote off last November, a delivery driver smashed into the back of me while I was stationary. My premiums came down and that had to go to court as his insurance argued over Avivas decision to write mine off. Cosmetically there wasn’t that much wrong but it had snapped a supporting strut on my petrol tank so that bumped it to over 60% of the cars value.

We use Swinton to find the cheapest (+ acceptable degree of cover) for both car and house.

Isn't the easiest way thee days to go on to CompareTheMarket.com, confused.com and gocompare.com? and see which one presents the best option/s?
Do people still 'physically' shop around?
