I don't fucking care who it is this diamond isn't working. Riggggghhhhhhht. But 442 will sort it, will it? With the lack of width and shots on target. Most likely it will improve us.

Well said Bryn. These players are total wankers..no fight whatsoever. I remember the Shrewsbury game (Nathe's first) 2-0 up with 20 minutes to go. Lost 3-2. Say's it all. Who played today that played at Shrewsbury? Not Lindsay, not CCV, not Cousins, not Duffy, not Gregory, not Hogan. I don’t think Etebo did. Maybe Clucas and Federici? Not sure about Collins...don’t think so. Stop blaming the players when they are being sent out disorganised. They hadn’t even played together before the team that played today. And we’re properly hung out to try by our clueless manager.

But honestly mate, and I'm not being rude or patronising but if we lined up as a 442 with the options we have available in the middle it would be even worse than it is now. We would be absolutely murdered. You also only have to look at our centre backs, we dont have the pace to squeeze up which is what we need to do to protect the midfield. It's a shit show from top to bottom.

That suggests that the problems at Stoke go much further than whose manager? Where is Tony Scholes at the moment, for example?

The thing about the diamond system that confuses me is, Rowett didn't play it yet the players seemed equally baffled at times too? So, have we just got a bunch of cretins playing for us?

I don’t think the players today didn’t try. They were sent out to be slaughtered today. I really felt for them. Of course their are massive problems but the problem is recruitment. We hired a manager who wasn’t qualified for the job they were asked to do and then we hired the wrong players for his system and the tasks they would be asked to do. It’s a clusterfuck on top of a clusterfuck. The problems have been the same for 4 years: 1. A manager wedded to a system he doesn’t have the players for 3. Buying players which aren’t better than what we had and aren’t suited to the system the manager wants to play It’s illogical. A fish rots from the head. The blame lies entirely at Tony and Johns door for me. Tony needs to go and if Johns going to take the reigns he needs a proper football man by his side. And we now do need a new manager however sad it is for Jones. Old school, back to basics, stop this rot spreading any further because at the moment we are in freefall.

It's a shit show from top to bottom. I don't see the point of having three centre backs who can't mark or defend to save their life and often only mark one player. Might as well bypass the horrid midfield we have and go long and on the wings for service. It got us into the prem once and it is an easier system all players know. Lindsay, Baath, Collins or Carter Vickers can play in a tandem just fine infact they all look like they would prefer a two centerback partnership.

My only minor tweak would be that John Coates needs to go too. The Boardroom needs changing. Having board members chosen through cronyism needs to end - its contributes to a culture where there isn't accountability. We also need people in the Boardroom with the calibre of guiding this ship and who are confident enough to appoint strong managers, not second rate car salesmen. Much as our players have flaws and deficiencies, they really are not a group that should be anywhere close to the bottom like this. The most acute problems remain above them.

Pejic :Jones “he talks a lot of waffle “ I remember when MH was in charge, Pejic said we needed a “British” defence, well that’s working well Pej! Sorry, but Pej often talks bollocks and how successful was he as a coach? By the way, I think Jones needs putting out of his misery (not literally)

You don’t have to be a successful coach to see exactly what is wrong with this shit. The 70 year old lady who sits behind me even she knows. The only person who can’t see it is Nathan Jones.

Love pej honesty, hes really trying to be restrained as to the shit that's going on behind the scenes. Hes been trying to rumble stoke board for a long time without losing his right to speech on radio broadcast.
