Bury FC feature in one of the oldest filmed football matches, from around the turn of the century, against Sheffield United. (I have it on a DVD (sad bastard that I am). We cannot let these icons of our cultural and sporting heritage disappear.

Plus Tony Ellis scored a brace there in a early 90's win at Gigg Lane, decent night actually as i got directed to a stand ticket even though i was a terrace ticket and got a great view of a firework display that night.Think we won 1-3 after going 1 down.

I saw their police themed mascot Bobby the Bobbie arrested by the real police for flicking the v's at us when we played them away.
For that reason alone I'm glad they've been saved.

Smart politicking from Dale. If the football league refuses to ratify it for whatever reason, he can blame them because he found a buyer and accepted the offer

It gets even better for Bury. Their potential new owners are C & N sporting risk, a company in a similar area as Matthew Benham at Brentford. They provide complex algorithms to asses a number of facets of sporting events to a number of different companies including Sports betting and bizarrely, insurance.
The potential is huge.

Could they advise Nathan π€ Taking your childish and glib comment higher, they could certainly overhaul a failing process. I never have understood why a football club that is owned by a stats based betting company, and arguably the biggest in the world, bases it's transfer process around a CEO from Preston and the mate of the owners son.

If Bury now play again they will need loan players. Over to you Mr Imbula. Your chance to give something back to the game that pays you so well.
Alternatively, if we have a campaign to lend him to Bury, he might see Turkey as a better prospect and accept a move to there instead.

My two lads have been down there today with a couple of their mates cleaning seats and sweeping the concourse.
Everyone in great spirits, and as the above post suggest looks like it could all be in vain.
Sickening for the fans.....

Oh dear, 2 founding member clubs go in 1 day ?
Not good unless you are a league 1 club hoping to avoid relegation

Bury and Bolton both going to the wall then? Are there any other options left? Bury's looks completely dead, they only got the extension to get the takeover across the line but with them pulling out now I can't see how the EFL can postpone it any more.

Can we swap places with them to put us out of our misery?

What's Steve Dale's game though? He says one thing and every single Bury fan is saying the other. An absolute travesty if they go out of the league after just coming up from League 2.

By the sounds of their statement it's more that they didn't have enough time to complete due diligence and rightly didn't want to be rushed into a decision. I wonder if the EFL will extend.
βAs part of our due diligence, we set ourselves a list of key criteria regarding the CVA, the ground and the overall financial state of the club that had to be met in order for us to be satisfied that we have enough knowledge to proceed with the takeover.
It is therefore with regret that we will be unable to proceed with the takeover of Bury FC. This decision has not been taken lightly.β
