Could someone explain why a skilful, attacking midfielder who was well liked at Bramall lane can't get into a side as fuckin Clueless as the one Jones puts out. If he doesn't fit into his stupid "diamond" system then why bring him to the club. Surely he deserves a few games to show what he can do, but then again that could mean dropping Allen god forbid!!.

I think Duffy was brought in to play behind the strikers, not sure he’s an out and out central midfielder.

It's just another in a series of baffling Nathan Jones decisions.
Hopefully he'll play a part in the near future in a system that's not complete shit.

Seems to be just behind the strikers or nothing with him, certainly in this system with him coming up to 34
Problem is he's in a 4-way fight with Powell, Ince and Verlinden for that role
With Powell fit, it'll be interesting to see if one of the other 3 joins Verlinden in missing out on the 18 completely

With Powell's injury record it made sense to have a decent alternative. The bewildering thing is Jones prefers Ince in that position. As an attacking midfield player you have to be a major influence and help dominate the opposition. Ince as we all know, skilful and can find the net goes missing for long periods in a game. Not my choice as a no 10. It's on record that he doesn't even fancy that position.

Duffy is the one player we have who is used to winning.
He has to start tomorrow.
Every other player we have is used to playing in a losing team.

He's a specialist No.10 and I'd prefer him to Ince in that position. Not a prolific goalscorer, but just what is Ince's 'shots on target over shots off target' ratio though? I would forgive some of Ince's other limitations if he could shoot straight ...

I think Jones was expecting Ince to be a fringe player after the end of last season, but after his little cameo against QPR, when he was our best player, he had to start him against Charlton. Ince was then arguably our best player against Charlton and scored a screamer for us.
You cannot really argue with him picking the team on form and merit. It is the only way he is going to keep all of these players happy and it also shows that his policy of having competition for places does actually work.
That said, Ince was less effective against Derby and Preston and we probably need to change it for Leeds.

On the one hand, really keen to see what Duffy has in his locker (it sounded bloody good according to Blades fans).
With the additional movement and pace arguably available up top with Greggers and Hogan, it could / should work a treat.
(And, if he's that clever he'll also be able to play the odd one - two off the wardrobe that is Vokes maybe? )
On the other, not sure we have the luxury of letting him 'bed in', if he needs it (he may well be a little rusty arriving last minute and no doubt will also be still scratching his head trying to understand what, exactly, NJ is asking him to do).
Yet with Powell living up to his sick note billing and Ince and Verlinden being a shoe-horn into that role anyway, he may be a roll of the dice for Nathan come Saturday?

He used to be a winger and was converted to a number 10, he'd be useless in Allens position, we have his replacement anyway, hopefully Etebo gets up to speed quickly.

We’ve not seen anything outside the usual box from him at all. And with that he can still try and claim he had a diamond in midfield (although it’s clearly a kite). In fairness to him he’s had two days so it’s not a lot of time but still a bit of imagination wouldn’t go amiss. Unfortunately I don’t think we’ve got the 2 in your system either.

Having a pop at Jones for this one, really? If you went to the Wigan game it was obvious that he isn’t match fit yet, he’s only had one game under his belt since May. We are 5 games into the season and another 50 odd to go with cup games, he will feature.
